"....ladies and gentlemen, Sir Paul McCartney and his wife Joanne....."

Paul gave her hand a squeeze as they both plastered smiles on their faces and faced the cameras for yet another interview. Paul was amazed how quickly Jo seemed to cope with interview situations. Interviewers in the states wanted lots of details about her. She managed to field the questions admirably but show how witty and intelligent she was at the same time. He was so proud of her....

"That's it love!" said Paul, pulling her into a hug. They were relaxing after having dinner in their hotel room. "Last one. No more interviews or anything. Promo stuff done. Thank you so much Jo sweetheart. You've been amazing through all of it."

Jo hugged him back. "I actually began to like it after a while!" she laughed, "but I'm still glad they're over!"

"So tomorrow we fly off to LA where we have a house with a private beach. How does that sound?"

Jo looked shocked. "You own more property? My god Paul, how many houses house do you own?"

"WE own 7 houses currently."  he laughed. "I think we should invite Helena out to one as a thank you, don't you?"

Jo smiled at him. "You'd do that?"

"Why not? A treat on me fo course!" Paul kissed her nose. "Come on Mrs McCartney. Early bedtime since we've got a flight at 8am tomorrow.  If you're lucky I might just show you how much I love you before we go to sleep!"

"Ohh I hope so!"  Jo grinned at him, "A repeat performance of this morning would be particularly lovely."

"Your wish is my command Mrs McCartney."

With that he took her hand and led her to the bed.

Three weeks holiday in the sunshine with Paul was exactly what Jo needed she realised. Just being together in relative peace without press interruptions was enough to restore her faith in why she had agreed to marry him. Jo knew she loved Paul dearly. Agreeing to the interviews and publicity was a side to her marriage she knew she could live with now, as the flip side to that was the quality time they shared. For a while those niggling doubts she had confessed to Helena vanished.

Paul was much happier too. He could see Jo was happy. Now that he understood why she struggled with aspects of their life together meant he began accommodate her feelings more into his plans. They returned to England in time for their first wedding anniversary. Once more they celebrated by spending two weeks in Scotland.

For their anniversary they celebrated with a simple yet delicious meal in the local pub. As they finished eating, Paul gave Jo her gift. She opened a green velvet box to find a simple gold pendant with a tiny flower design on it. Although she loved it immediately, Jo was surprised at it's simplicity as normally his gifts to her were much more lavish.

"There's a reason why I bought this for you love." he explained, fastening it around her neck. "Apart from the fact I thought you'd like the design. It wasn't particularly expensive or anything like that but it is made by a Scottish designer who works fairly local to here."

"Really? Where? I'd love to see more designs!"

Paul smiled. "I thought you'd say that!. Anyway, this designer, all her designs have Scottish names. And I particulary liked the name of this piece. It seemed very apt for you and me. It's name is spelt M-a-c-k-a-i-r."

"Mackair?" Jo tried the word out for herself.

Paul smiled softly. "Close but not quite. No, would you believe it's actually pronounced 'macca?"

Jo looked delighted. "Seriously?"

Paul nodded. "I've commisioned some cufflinks in the same design for myself. Do you like it?"

"I love it Paul. You know I like things with that Celtic feel. It's so simple yet pretty. The name makes it even more special too. Thank you so much." She kissed him softly. "I'm afraid you'll have to wait until later for your gift from me Paul my love. Is that OK?"

"Sounds very intriguing Mrs McCartney, I must say!"

"I left it at home. You can have it when we get back." she grinned at him.

An hour or so later Jo walked into the living room carrying a gold cardboard box, wrapped with a red ribbon.

"This is my gift to you." she told Paul as she handed it to him. Paul looked surprised but shyly pleased.

"What is it?" he asked curiously.

"Open it and find out!" Jo seemed nervous he noticed.

Slowly he untied the bow and released the ribbon from around the box. He lifted the lid. The contents were hidden from view, wrapped in red tissue paper. Again he looked at Jo, puzzlement on his face. He slowly opened the tissue paper and looked inside. Jo watched as he picked up the first thing he found and took it from the box. He looked at Jo, a huge grin on his face.

"Mrs McCartney? I do believe that this is a pair of crotchless panties!"

Jo smiled softly. "Really?"

Paul placed the knickers on the seat next to him and looked again into the box. Once more he pulled out another item of 'interesting' underwear until eventually he found himself surrounded by 8 items, all of which he found very sexy.

"A very interesting collection Jo but I'm not sure of any of it will fit me!"

Jo launched herself at him. "Fool!" she giggled, hitting him playfully. "I'll have to send them all back then won't I?"

Paul kissed her then shifted his position slightly. Jo noticed immediately that he had an erection. "I see my gift has done exactly what I hoped it would." she whispered. "Shall I model some of this for you? Now?"

"Now? Oh yes please!" Paul kissed her, hard and passionately then groaned. "Come on woman! I need you!"

After handing her his chosen items, Jo ran upstairs to change.

After a few minutes, Paul followed, looking forward to 'unwrapping' his present once more.
