I threw myself onto my bed, pulling the covers over my body. The only things going through my head were questions. Things like "Was I Not Good Enough?" "Did He Ever Even Like Me?" and "Was It All For Nothing?"
I remembered when he confessed his feelings for me a few years ago."I really like you Riley," he smiled at me. That smile made my heart absolutely melt. I took his hand gently. "I really like you too," I smiled at him. I kissed him on the cheek and his face got red. I giggled and we talked for a while.
The flashback made me miss him even more. His eyes, his smile, his good looks, the list goes on.
But then, something else raced through my mind. Her.Cassidy O'Connel.
Honestly, the name "Cassidy" makes me wanna puke now, even though I have a friend named Cassidy, and she's really nice. She was the blonde she-devil in high heels and ripped jeans.
I remember when I met her, one of the worst days of my life.My phone ringed repeatedly so I answered it. Wow, huge surprise. It said it was from Lucas. "Hey, Lucas, what's up?" I laughed as I put some clothes away.
"Hey, Riles," he said. His voice sounded normal, little did I know, something was going on. "Can you meet me at that new restaurant in a few minutes? Yesterday my mom and dad went there and they said it was amazing!" Lucas asked. "Uh, sure, I'll meet you there in five," I answered. "Great," he said before he hung up.
I went into the bathroom and brushed my hair since it had a few tangles in it. I put on a white shirt with yellow and pink flowers and some light blue leggings.
I walked through the door and looked around. I saw a restaurant that I didn't recognize so I guess that's the new restaurant. Lucas didn't tell me the name of the new restaurant, so I guess that's it. I've been here all my life, and I haven't seen that yet so.
I smiled and made my way there. The restaurant was really cool, it served a bunch of things from fruit salads to slushies to ice cream to coffee and etc. There were indoor and outdoor tables but I choose to sit outside, since it was a nice and sunny day.
I ordered a vanilla frapuccino, yeah Starbucks isn't the only one that has it. It came pretty fast and I tasted it. It didn't taste as good as Starbucks, but, you know, you can't win at everything in life. I was almost done with my drink when Lucas came in.
"Uh, sorry, I was um, running late, I uh, had some things to do," Lucas apologized as I smiled. A waitress came to get our orders. "Wait, there was a waitress? So I went in there and tripped a bunch of times when I could've just waited!" I thought as I mentally slapped my forehead.
"Uh, one black coffee and a vanilla frapuccino for the lady," he smiled as she nodded. "Lucas, how'd you know I love vanilla frapuccinos?" I asked excitedly. "Uh, lucky guess?" he scratched the back of his neck.
When the order arrived, I heard footsteps. "Hey, Lukie!" a girl with blonde hair, tan skin, and skimpy clothing said as she kissed Lucas' cheek and grabbed the vanilla frapuccino.
"Um, Lucas, who is she?" the girl pointed her finger at me.
"Uh, that's Riley, my friend, um, Riley, meet Cassidy, my uh, girlfriend," Lucas awkwardly smiled as I raised my eyebrows. Girlfriend? I was his girlfriend!
"Uh, hi, Cassidy, nice to meet you," I fake smiled as took her hand. "Don't touch me," she smiled then snatched her hand away.
"I'm gonna go catch my friends at the mall, bye, Lukie!" she called him by her pathetic nickname and kissed him on the cheek once more.
My eyes burned with fiery but tears were threatening to spill.
"R-R-Riley, I can explain!" Lucas backed away. I just broke down to tears and ran away. Far far away.
And now here I am, in tears, crying over a boy who probably never liked me. It was all thrown in the trash now. Our hugs, kisses, and dates meant nothing to him. Because after all of that, he chose her.
