Chapter 6 (M-M-Masaomi?!)

(The man in the media is Dr Matsuoka)

May POV

I walked down the road, Katta in my hands and a bag over my shoulder ready for work

I walked in and saw Masaomi with Mitsu running off down a hallway

'I don't want him to find out about Katta this way...'

I went to front desk and frowned

"Can I work with someone else today?" I begged

"Why May? What's wrong with Dr Asahina?" The lady asked

"N-nothing is just that we both have kids with us and I fear it would effect our work" I lied

"I see, that's fine you can work with Dr Matsuoka" the lady handed me the schedule

"If he asks tell him I'm not in so that he doesn't try to make things harder" I smiled walking down the other hallway

I walked into Dr Matsuoka's room and sat Katta down in the cot in the corner

I sighed sitting down next to the cot on the floor

Dr Matsuoka walked in and stared at me for a second and then laughed

"What are you doing here, Mana said you weren't in" Dr Matsuoka laughed

"I just didn't want Masaomi to know about Katta" I sighed

"The baby? Didn't realise you had one.. lemmie guess you found her?" Matsuoka smirked

I nodded and sighed

"I just didn't want to tell Masaomi" I frowned

"If you want since we haven't got anyone coming for a while I can give her a checkup" Matsuoka offered

"Would you? Thank you so much" I smiled standing up and bowing

"Let's get started" Matsuoka smiled getting out his work equipment

I grabbed Katta and sat her on the table and took off her onesiee

"She looks healthy but we should check anyway" Matsuoka smiled

Throughout the checkup I had a range of feelings
I felt happy to be useful and to see how healthy Katta was but I felt sad..
it's not the same working without blushing or seeing Masaomi smiling back at me whenever we saw a happy child...

I frowned and put Katta's onesiee back on

"Healthy and all so I'll send the samples off and I'm sure she's healthy regardless" Matsuoka smiled putting the blood and other samples off for checking

I nodded sadly and picked up Katta since she was already sleeping

"Is something wrong May?" Matsuoka asked

"It's just not the same without Masaomi I guess, thanks Matsuoka" I smiled falsely laying Katta down in the cot

"So do tell, what was so bad about Masaomi working with you today?" Matsuoka sighed standing next to me

"Well...to explain that you'd need the full story and that would take too long" I sighed

Matsuoka smirked and lifted me off the floor

"Matsuoka?!" I snapped

"We've got time" he chuckled sitting me on his desk while he sat in his chair

"Why?" I glared

"I want to know, our next client still isn't due for a while so it could be interesting, at least more so then being sat with just my coffee" Matsuoka smirked motioning to his cup
