9 Months Later
Jessica’s P.O.V
My feet have swollen to the size of watermelons and my stomach is as big as a hot air balloon, or that’s how it feels. I am currently on maternity leave from work and I am boarded out of my mind and even I can’t do anything because of my damn feet! I don’t even have Loki here to entertain me, he’s out buying me more baby cloths, which I might add I forced him to do. He doesn’t want to leave my side saying “The baby is due any day, and I don’t want you to be alone,” or saying, “What if you fall and get hurt and I am not around to help you, I would never forgive myself.” It normally takes A LOT of convincing to get him to go somewhere, but he can’t say no to his pregnant wife.
To entertain myself, I decided to pick out baby names, not like the baby was due any day any way. I begin flipping through a book on boy and girl names, since we want to be surprised. After a half hour I found to goo names Juliet and William, and then I started making the list of people who will be coming to the wedding, which we haven’t done much planning on, and now I am bored once more. How long does it take to pick out some baby cloths, I think to myself, and so sooner did I think that Loki comes walking through the door, with bags on top of bags in his arms. “I didn’t think we needed that much, love,” I say.
“There were too many choices and to top it off they were all so cute,” he puts the bags down and walks over to me and puts his hand on my stomach, “My little one will always need to be dressed is something adorable.”
“Well then let’s be getting these cloths into the nursery,” when we first found out I was pregnant we turned the spare bedroom into a nursery. The bedroom was painted a yellow/ beige with little animals painted over the walls. The furniture was simple, a crib with green bedding, a changing station, and a dresser. “Only two more days and our little baby will be here,” I said with my voice laced with excitement.
“I know, that’s why I am not leaving you until the baby is here, is that clear,” he was clearly concerned but, I didn’t dare try and fight it because his foot was put down.
That night we ordered Chinese food and watched movies, mostly horror. Loki hates horror every time a scary part would come up he would hold me tighter or burry his head in my shirt, for some big strong man he is he’s a scaredey cat. After a few horror movies I decided to call it a night, as did Loki. I quickly got changed into an oversized shirt and sweat pants, and fell into a dreamless sleep.
I woke up; while it was still pitch black, I am guessing two in the morning, with a wet feeling and a horrible pain along my abdomen. I manage to roll over and tug on Loki’s arm, “Honey wake up, I think the baby is coming,” my voice quavered as another round of contractions hit.
“Darling, can’t it wait ‘till morning,” his voice was laced with sleep.”
“NO IT CAN’T!” I yell this time with a fiery rage, “The baby is COMING!”
“SHIT! Darling I am sorry, I thought you said you wanted something,” he mumbled without getting up.
“I do want you to go do something, go get the car and bring it around front,” I whisper angrily in his ear.
As if a light bulb went off he sprang up, “Sometimes I swear I am just stupid,” he muttered under his breath. He helped me out of bed and into new pants, and down into the car. The whole way there I was yelling at him to drive faster and I am pretty sure I called him the worst fiancé ever but, I just want this pain to stop!
We FINIALLY reached the hospital and I was admitted straight away. I was put into a hospital gown and the nurses examined me, “The doctor will be here shortly,” one said almost a half hour ago. “Where the hell is this stupid doctor!” I say to Loki.
“He should be here any minute,” he was trying to be reassuring but you could see he was beyond scared and so was I. The doctor came in only a few minutes later and began to examine me doing a much better job than the nurses. “At this point there is nothing we can do for the pain but you are ready to push.”
A half hour later our little Juliet was here. She had her father’s green and his raven black hair. She was absolutely beautiful and one day she will amount to great things.
