First Time- Theatre Edition (darkdisrepair)

well i'm doing this because abby did it and i feel bad because i've done literally nothing for helplesshamiltons this week whoops

and it's fun so yay!

1. FIRST MUSICAL YOU SAW

the sound of music, when i was like, six? i had poison ivy so i don't remember much about the actual show whoops

2. FIRST MUSICAL YOU PERFORMED IN

a mashup called Broadway Through the Decades, i was in 'hard knock life' and 'food, glorious food'. i refused to wear stage makeup, mostly because the colors looked horrible on me because my skin tone was different from the makeup that the person had whoops

3. FIRST BROADWAY CRUSH

ramin karimloo, phantom of the opera (royal albert hall) because he's great

4. FIRST LEAD

i was a navigator in a super cringey production about time travel, and i had to yell in spanish (i take french) and be devastated about losing a compass. rip me. 

5. FIRST DREAM ROLE

to be honest i did fantasize about being gretl when i saw sound of music, so abby will be happy.

6. FIRST PLAY YOU SAW

hmm, i can't remember. it was probably a school play.

7. FIRST PLAY YOU PERFORMED IN

it was called Almost History: That Whole Space-Time Continuum Thing and was super campy and just very cringe and awkward and we rapped about history so yeah

8. FIRST BROADWAY SHOW YOU SAW

Phantom of the Opera for my 13th birthday. it was so amazing and ugh the chills

9. FIRST STAGE KISS

nope not really an actor anymore

10. FIRST MOMENT WHEN YOU REALIZED YOU LOVED PERFORMING

umm when i saw how cool everything was before the actual performances (rehearsal, tech days, etc)

11. FIRST SCHOOL MUSICAL

my first school musical was pit for sound of music!! i loved it

13. FIRST SUMMER CAMP SHOW

haha no. i don't go to camp for acting/singing, i dislike solos and etc but props to you if you do that kind of thing

14. FIRST CRUSH ON A CAST MEMBER

they're not crushes, but i looked up to a senior who was in the plays in the musicals because she's talented. guy wise, i guess the guy who played Topher in Cinderella?

15. FIRST MAJOR ONSTAGE MISTAKE

well, not onstage, but in the pit. we have this super dramatic song called 'Climb Every Mountain' in Sound of Music where there's a key change. let me explain that the other trumpet and i had been swapping parts around for fun (i was supposed to be playing 3, but in rehearsals i did 2, and he was used to part 1 even though he played 2 in performances) so i didn't know my ACTUAL part as well as part 2. well, the key change went from sharps to flats or something.

and while we were playing the part where it goes 'climb every mountaiiiin' super majestic, i DIDN'T PLAY THE RIGHT NOTE and it clashed super badly and i changed to the right one like a beat later and i was like... whoops. so yeah!!! good times.
