I woke up to the smell of my favorite breakfast, like I do every year on the first day of school, scrambled eggs and bacon. I stumbled out of my queen sized bed and sat down on a swirly chair at my desk. I grabbed my dark blue hair brush and started brushing my long, thick brown hair. Once I got all the noughts out, I pulled it into a tight, high ponytail. Then I changed out of my lime green pajamas and into an outfit I picked out last night, a white T-shirt with a brown horse on it and a pair of jeans.
"Abbey! Are you awake yet?" I heard my mom call from the kitchen downstairs.
"Yeah mom, I'll be right down!" I called back.  I had to text my best friend in the whole world, Emma. I grabbed my new iPhone 7, which my parents gave me for completing seventh grade with straight A's all year. "Hey Emma, ready for the first day of 8th grade?" I texted.
"Of course! Can't wait to see you again! But can't talk now, mom making me take the dog out on a walk!" Came the immediate reply.
I ran downstairs, I had forgot that it was my turn to feed the family pet cat, Bella. Bella was a beautiful golden tabby with bright green eyes, who really didn't care who fed her as long as she got her food.
"Morning, Bella" I said, entering the guest room she likes to sleep in and scooping her up in my arms. She immediately started purring, like she always does when someone starts petting her. I carried Bella into the kitchen, put her down, grabbed her food dish off the floor, entered a scoop of food into it and put it back on the floor in front of her.
"Finally, I was beginning to think you forgot about Bella" my mom's voice sounded from behind me. I turned around to see my mom setting up the table in the dining room, which is basically the same room as the kitchen.
"I almost did" I admitted. "Where's dad and Miranda?" Miranda was my really annoying little sister, but as I learned from my friends, all little sisters are annoying.
"Your father went to drop off your sister at school. Not everyone is in middle school you know." my mom replied. Miranda was going into fourth grade while I was on my last year of middle school. "Come eat your breakfast."
I took my usual seat at the table and started eating my scrambled eggs.
"Mom?" I asked, setting my fork down on my plate.
"Yes sweetheart?" My mom answered.
"Can I get a dog?" I asked.
"Abbey we talked about this."
"I know but..."
"The answer right now is no and that is final. Do you understand?" My mom said sternly.
I just nodded my head and continued to eat my breakfast.
Have you ever wanted something so badly that you would give up anything to have it? I have! I've always wanted a dog every since I was like six, but didn't start bugging my parents about it till I was in fifth grade. Every time I bring up the subject the answer is always a no! No discussion or anything just plain no! My parents just don't understand how badly I want a dog!

This is my first chapter hope you like it! Just thought of it randomly. Please vote and comment! Will try to post a chapter a week but with school starting this Monday I don't know if I'll be able to update.
