Hey guys, so i'm going to be doing this in a multi-perspective form and it might get confusing. Please correct me if you notice mistakes.
Vall
Walking the halls of this caslte is a lonely and painful experience. This dress is too heavy, the corset is too tight, and the halls are too echoy. As I walk passed the ballroom I hear bustling around. Odd, considering that I was not told of an event. As I go to open the great door it's slammed open in my face. I hit the ground hard."Watch it!" I say angrily as I struggle to get up with this dumb dress. It can be so restricting sometimes.
"Sorry," I hear mumbled back to me. The smell catches me off gaurd. It's sweet, and for a moment I don't care that I am on the floor. Time slows as a slave that I haven't seen in the halls, must be new, walks away. His hair is long and dark, his skin is tanned, glistening with sweat, and his hands grip a great box. I stare in awe.
When did we get that one?
He was gorgeous. The door slams open, again, on my foot.
"OW! What's so difficult about opening a door?"
"Sorry."
Again they walk away, and again I don't recognize the face.
What's going on?
After much struggling, and much failing, I finally get up and open the door. When I do, I see the ballroom is completely full of servents I don't recognize. In the midst of all the shock of a glorious ballroom that happened to decorate its self over night, I see my aunt, Jackoline.
Finally someone I know. She is dressed in a dazzling blue satin dress with a low, square cut neckline with lace that covers her neck. Her posture is perfect, I have always admired her. She is the definition of elegance and grace. She is the perfect person to be in a castle.
All the hustle and bustle seems to be controlled by her. She is planning something, but what? I start to walk towards her but again, I am bumped into.
I groan, this seems to catch aunties attention. Her concentration seemed to be interrupted and she was momentarily angry, but when she saw my face, her's lights up. I'm her favorite, and everybody in the castle knows it. She comes rushing towards me with purpose. This means she has something to tell me, and its something my parents don't know. I love when she plans these mysterious parties.
"Vall, how are you darling?" She embraces me tightly with a kiss on each cheek, "I have something marvelous planned and you're going to love it, I just know it."
She rambles a bit about how wonderful it will be and how excited she is when a thought pops into her head.
"Oh, darling, we have to get a dress fitted for you. Oh dear, well we can go do that now. My slaves know what to do. Now go on, get dressed to go out."
I hesitate, what is she planning. A new dress, going out.
"Auntie, I can just have a seamstress come her and fit me-"
"No no, that wont do, she wont get here in time. Now go get dressed, we are limited on time darling."
And out the doors I go. I just love it when she gets like this. The dresses, the food, the shoes, the people, the music. All of it is planned perfectly. Almost too perfect to be real most times. But thats exactly why I am in love with them, and this castle.
I rush up to my room, hand maids following, and start untying my corset. They quickly finish and I am undressed and dressed in minutes. I sit at my vanity and apply powder while they brush and braid my hair into a dutch braid.
I grab a pair of shoes from my enormous closet and slip them on. I stand up and I am ready to leave when there is a knock on my door.
"Come in," mu tone coming off a little more exasperated then I planned.
"Ma'am a letter," the blond boy then gave me the letter and quickly walked out.
Dearest Valliry,
We will soon be together happily. I do miss you so, I wish you would write me more. Mother says we are coming to England for Jackoline's party this evening, I hope to see you there. I am wearing blue and silver with an emerald mask. Do try a match with me.With love,
K.
Alrighty then, blue, silver, and emerald it is. Now that that's settled, I must find Auntie and summon a carriage. So many ideas are floating through my head. This dress will be amazing knowing auntie. I can hardly contain myself as a practically skip down flights of stairs and corridors, only stopping when I reach the grand ballroom.I look in, not seeing auntie I look for the next familiar face, and who do I see, Mr. Grumpy that knocked me to the floor. I glance around the room one more time for another face. With no success it looks like im stuck with him. Oh well.
As I walk up to him he turns the other way. Rude, he isn't doing anything, a slave shouldn't act like that.
"You there, slave, where is-"
"Look, your majesty, I don't have time so if you please-"
"How dare you," did a slave just talk back, to a princess? "A slave like you shouldn't-"
"All do respect," his tone is spiteful, what does he think he's doing? "I'm not a slave, and you have no right to boss me around!"
He bows deep, as to mock me, and turns sharply on his heels and marches off.
"Take it easy darling," auntie stands behind me grasping my shoulder. "I wouldn't mess with him. Now let's get going, your dress is going to take some time."
I scoff, but she's right. If I want a dress, of royal taste, then we should have left hours ago. I turn, my large lavender skirt twirls sharply around me. The darn thing is so heavy I almost fall over, we can downsize my dress now that I think about it.
With that thought in mind we get in the carriage and head towards the city.
