The loose gravel crunched under his patent leather clad feet as he made his way up the long drive way.

Upon reaching the door, his fist reached up and knocked twice. His face remained calm, peaceful almost, but this wasn't the case on the inside. Elijah could feel the anger inside of him grow as he heard heavy footsteps come closer to the door.

The old wooden door swung open to reveal the young man with alluring bright green eyes and a chiseled jaw.

"Are you Kyle?"

"Yeah," he nodded slightly. "What's it to you?"

"It's come to my attention that you broke my daughter's heart," Elijah grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. "I think it's time you and I had a little chat, don't you think?"

"What are you talking about? I don't even know your – "

"Alana Kingsley," he cut the teenager off. "You and your friends made a bet. I don't care about the bet, however, you did make my daughter cry. I care about her."

Elijah dragged him outside and roughly threw him to the ground.

His eyes began to turn blood red and veins appeared on his handsome face. His lips parted to reveal a pair of sharp, canine-like fangs.

"What are you?" Kyle whimpered from the ground. "Please don't kill me."

"Do I have your attention?" Kyle nodded his head slightly, unable to move anything else out of pure fear. Elijah let his features go back to normal. "Good. Alana is the most precious thing on this earth to me and I would sooner die than let anything hurt her. From the moment I saw I knew I had to protect her at all costs. That includes from men like you."

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt her – "

"Enough!" He yelled harshly enough to make the teenage boy jump. The Original grabbed him by the collar once more and dragged him closer to him. "You're going to apologise to my daughter and you're going to beg her for a second chance, and when she rejects you, you're going to go home and cry. And you will never, never do to anyone what you did to her. Am I making myself clear?"

"Yes," came Kyle's monotonous reply.

"Excellent." Elijah stood up and began to walk away before realising he had one last piece of business to deal with. "One more more thing. You're going to forget any of this happened tonight."

The suited Original then turned around and continued back down the long gravel driveway, whistling to himself as he walked back to his black Porsche.

"Did you get what you needed?" Alana questioned her father, briefly looking up from her phone. "You were gone for a while."

"I did," he nodded, pulling a ring from his suit jacket. "I gave this to your mother when we first met. She gave it back before I left so that I'd have something to remember her by."

His words weren't entirely true – the part about the ring was, however, he hadn't just gone to get it. He'd been carrying it around for almost 16 years, but he needed an excuse to pay Kyle a visit.

Alana didn't have to know the truth.
