Both of them sat opposite each other on the round wooden table. "So, what were you doing in the forest? Hunting?" Calliah asks, noticing the three arrows he carried on his back.

"Um, yes. Actually no. Wait um, kind of?" Cupid stumbles upon his words. I came here to hunt you down actually.

Calliah raises an eyebrow, and made a 'hmm' sound, and both of them continued eating in silence.

"Why did you choose to live here? No one is hardly ever around this area, and this place is pretty far from town, isn't it?" Cupid decides to ask out of curiosity. "Oh, I wanted to move out of my village. Because the girls there, aren't the friendliest to me ya' know?" She answers, with a hint of sadness in her voice. And Cupid understands immediately. It must be due to her looks, her beauty. But her face was replaced with a smile instantly, "but I mean it's not bad around here. I love the nature. Waking up every morning to the sound of the birds, the fresh air, I just love everything here. Makes me feel so much at peace."

"What's your name, by the way? I'm Calliah." She says, and he panics. What should I say? James? Michael? Jayce?

"Call me, uh, Cupid." He says. "Cupid? Unique name. He's the son of Venus, isn't he? I always loved Venus, my parents too. They believe that it was her, that created the feeling and magic of love, and it was because of the pure feeling of love, that led my parents together, and enabled them to live their happiest moments in their lives. That's why my parents always told me stories of Venus, how she comes down to earth and sends many many blessings to couples, and that she even gives out fruits and sweets that helps people fall in love, even though I don't know how that works," her mouth curved into a smile, as she felt a feeling of nostalgia of the memory of her parents.

Cupid immediately felt a pang of guilt hit his chest. Her family respected and believed in my Mother so much, and she is about to be killed from the orders of the woman they respected so much. Twisted if you ask me.

"You seem like you have good memories with your parents. Where are they now? Are they living in the village at the foot of the hill?" Cupid asks.

Calliah looked out of the window, and pointed to the night sky full of glistening stars. "They're there," she whispered.

Cupid watches as her eyes glisten, but he did not know what to say. "I... Sor-" He apologises but got cut off. "Don't be sorry, you didn't start the plague anyways." She says, looking down.

She bit her lip, holding back the tears threatening to fall, as memories of her parents came flooding her mind. Memories played back as if it happened yesterday, and not 8 years ago.

Calliah sighed, and stood up from the table. "I'm turning in for the night. Are you okay with sleeping on the couch? I'll get you a blanket and pillow. Hold on."

He was in a dilenma. He knew he had to kill her, but how? He realised that she resembled too much of the woman he loved so dearly. The woman whom left him 200 years ago.

Kelista.
