55 days before

"Why are you in such a hurry mom? It's

like you want me gone?"

She was speeding through all the lights

and never made a complete stop at any

of the stop signs.

"No of course not hunny, I just don't

want you to be late!"

40 minutes later

"We are now boarding zone 3. Please

have your boarding pass ready for the

gate attendant to scan it."

"Mom, Mother... SUSAN BROWN," I

yell as she texts away on her phone.

"God Savannnah. What do you need?"

"Im boarding now."

"Oh right. Of course. Ok sweetie I'll see

you in 8 weeks? You have your

toothbrush, lots of jeans for your dad's

job, extra under-"

"MOM. I'm going now."

Getting all my stuff to fit on the plane

and hearing the flight attendant go over

the safety rules was hard enough. But

having the smelliest, fattest dude sit

next to me had to be the worst.

"Thanks for choosing American

Airlines as your number one flying

choice. Next stop: Ottoville, Ohio."
