Chapter 3

After leaving the hospital, Robert dropped Craig off at his house and then left to go to an arrangement with Mary's at the bar.

Craig grabbed his keys from his bag and sluggishly placed the keys in the door and unlocked it and walked in to his pristine house and collapsed on the comfortable sofa in his living room.

He was sat there for about 10 minutes when he started to think about things. He started to think about how he was going to raise the twins.

He started to panic. He couldn't raise two more children on his own and he wouldn't be able to cope with the stress of being a father of 5. He wouldn't be able to work out and keep healthy. He was struggling now with 3 children and couldn't imagine what it would it would be like with 5.

His heart started to race and all the thoughts kept going through his head. He started to struggle to breathe and he knew what was happening. He was having a panic attack. He started to feel really dizzy and felt like he was going to pass out.

The chest pains started and caused Craig a great deal of pain. He was starting to get worse. He fell to the floor in pain.

Suddenly, he heard a knock at the door and heard that it was Janet. One of the softball moms and she had probably come to bring Briar, Hazel and River back.

Slowly he mustered up the strength to get up and calmed himself down and went to answer the door with shaking hands.

"Hey, Craig. I hope that you are feeling better but I come by to drop of the girls." Janet told Craig and handed him River who was fast asleep.

The girls walked in and each cuddled one of Craig's legs as he slowly bent down to kiss them on the head.

"Janet, thanks for this but can you go and put River in her cot please? It is the first door on the left when you walk upstairs." Craig asked Janet as he could not muster the strength to walk upstairs with a baby on his chest.

"Yeah of course I will Craig." Janet took River back and took her upstairs while rubbing her back.

Meanwhile, Briar and Hazel were still wrapped around his legs, holding on for dear life.
"What's the matter, girls"
"We thought you were going to die, daddy." Briar started with tears travelling down his face.
"Yeah, seeing you like that dad really spooked us. We thought we were going to lose you." Hazel added, also having tears travel down her face.

"Girls, I would never do that to you, I love you so much but I have got some news to tell you and it might surprise you, so go sit down and I will come over in a minute." Craig said to the girls and they soon went and sat down.

Craig soon saw Janet walk down the stairs and excuse herself from the house and close the door behind her. She waved at Craig and he waved back at her and went and sat down next to the girls.

"Girls, I understand that if you want to live with your mum after this, it is totally fine. When I passed out, I had just been sick before I had came back and did not feel well. When we got to the hospital, the doctor took my blood to be tested, well... um, I was told that I was pregnant and that completely shocked me and they soon did a special scan on my stomach so we could see how far along I was and they discovered that I was pregnant with twins, like you two."

Craig took out a scan photo of the twins and handed it over to the girls to look at it. They both gasped at what they saw and then looked at Craig bulging stomach.

They placed one of their hand on the small bump and smiled at Craig. He smiled back and brought the girls into a massive hug.

He knew that the girls had accepted it but what would the rest of the people in the cul-de-sac think...
