The other night dear, as I was sleeping, I dreamed I held you in my arms

I woke up drenched in sweat and shaking. It was that dream again. Even though it's been 2 years I just can't let go. I miss her so so much.

As Claude entered my quarters, I began to sob heavily, burying my head in my hands. "Was it that dream again, your highness?" He asked in his monotone voice. I nodded softly.

But when I woke dear, I was mistaken so I held my head and I cried.

As I continued to sob, Claude left to deal with the other servants. Why isn't he helping me? If (y/n) was here, she'd help me; she'd rub my back and hug me whilst whispering comforting words into my ear. God, I miss her so much.

"Come on Alois!!" She called, running past me to go to my study. I laughed loudly, chasing after her.

When I eventually caught up with her, I wrapped my arms around her waist and buried my face into her lovely,    (h/c) hair. She giggled softly. Even if the weather was awful outside, she managed to make me happy. "I love you so much, (y/n)." I whispered into her ear, giggling once more when she replied that she loved me too. I'm glad that I have her. Only 2 years until we can finally get married.

A few weeks later, when we were out in the garden, she began to speak in a soft tone. "Alois?" I looked at her and nodded, waiting for her to continue. "I-if I die, will you forget me?" She spoke, tears threatening to fall from her eyes. I leaped up from my seat, wrapping my arms around her as she wept. "I could never forget you, love. What's wrong? What are you talking about?" I asked her, concern evident on my features.

She looked up at me and spoke the words that broke my heart.
"I'm going to die, Alois, I have cancer..." her voice trailed off as she began to weep, soon being joined by my sons as I slid down to the ground, holding her in my arms as our pained voices combined to create a choir of internal agony. I was broken.

-Flashback Over-
It's been just over two years since her death. Today we were supposed to be married, so I will visit her grave and read my vows. I will dress in a suit and bring her some roses, I will wear my ring on my finger and her's around my neck as I marry the woman I love.

~Timeskip To the Graveyard~

"I do." I said, tears flowing from my eyes in an endless cascade. Suddenly, I fell to my knees before her grave as the wind caused the trees around me to dance to a tune I was unable to hear.

"I wonder if you can see me, (y/n), I wonder if you are watching over me from the sky and if you can hear me as I cry over your death each night. If you can, I want you to know that I still remember you and that I still love you just as much as I did that day I asked you to marry me. Goodbye my love..." I spoke quietly, before I turned to enter my carriage as to return home...alone...
