The Moon's Fate

Chapter 3

"Hey Sally!  I need to get out for a bit. My wolf is really restless."

"Okay.  Be careful out there dear!"

I smile and walk out the doors of the lobby. 

You would think being on the run constantly would leave me wanting to take every break that I can.  But I'm an alphas pup.  I'm built to be stronger and have more endurance. Plus the years of running have conditioned me.  If it weren't for running from someone, I would actually enjoy it.

I find the nearest exit of the town an check my surroundings for anyone watching.  Everyone seems to be looking away. 

I quickly duck into the woods, drawing in a large breath to orientate myself to the pack. 
It would be preferable to avoid the line altogether.  The last thing I want right now is to run from patrols.

I find a large tree out of sight from the road and quickly take off my clothes to stash by the tree.  After I tuck my clothes next to the roots, I lunge forward into my large black wolf.
For a female I am above average.  I stand around three and a half foot tall.

'Want to take this one Liz?' She has been restless so a good run that she is in charge of will hopefully tune here down.

'Always!' She chips back as we take off. 

'Okay' I laugh at her excitement, 'you know the drill, stay off pack land.'

She takes off weaving through trees. There is not quite any other sensation like the wind rushing through your fur. It feels like you are fly. Soaring high above the ground.

I try to just sit back and let Liz get whatever is in her system out but she is getting closer to the pack line.

'Liz we need to stop. We don't want to accidentally cross.' I warn.

'I promise I won't. I just feel like I need to get a little closer.'

'I mean it Liz. We cannot risk it. Let me have control back.'

'Fiiinnnnneeee.' She sighs out.

Just as I gain control back I am sent tumbling across the ground. I stop tumbling and start to get up.

"Shift!" A strong voice orders.

Crap.

'We did it this time Liz.'

'Sorry' she mutters back.

"I said shift." The voice orders again with a bit of aggravation in his tone.

I turn away from the voice and quickly change back into my skin.

"I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to come onto your territory. My wolf was in control. I'm very sorry." I try to talk myself out of this situation.

"You didn't cross onto our territory. Your close to our boarders though. We've had a bit of a rouge problem and have to take down all that we see. Name?"

"Scarlet. Yours?" I keep facing away, not wanting to be completely exposed infront of this stranger.

"I'm Kevin. Here put this on." He throws a shirt at me.

I quickly slip it on being extremely happy that it reaches past my knees.

"Follow me."

"Why?"

"You're a rouge. I have to bring you back at the least. Your lucky your not dead right now."
Kevin says with a knowing look.

"Fine. I promise I won't try to run. I'm not doing anything wrong. Just trying to make it out here." I answer honestly.

"Good. Now let's get going."

After a solid five minutes of walking in silence, I decide that I might as well try to make small talk. 

"Where exactly are you taking me?"

"Can't tell you.  Your still a rouge I matter how small and innocent you seem."

"What rank are you." I can feel power coming off of him.  Defiantly not alpha, but stronger than most. 

"I'm the Beta."

Figured.  At least he seems okay.  Hasn't tried to kill me yet at least. 

"I figured.  You can feel the power coming off of you."

"What rank were you?  I mean you still radiate power out."  Kevin looks at me curiously. 

"I was an alphas daughter."

"Wow.  Now a rouge?  Well we're here."

I see a building in a clearing and several wolves circulating around. 

"I'm sorry but I'm going to have to put you into a cell until my alpha meets you."

I nod.   And with that we go into the guarded building and down some steps. 

I walk into a small cell and start the wait to see what the Alpha decides.
