7. To see is to believe

Where the hell is he?! We were supposed to be going out on a date about an hour ago. I can't believe this I made dinner reservations for tonight 6 months ago and now I had to cancel. He's been doing this to me lately and at this point I'm getting really annoyed with him.

What could be so important that he can't even bother to answer any of his calls or messages?

What if Lucy was right and he really is cheating on me? No it can't be,he wouldn't do that but it's starting to make sense now. All those times he would disappear from me, just to answer or make a phone call.

He would always make up excuses on who was on the other side of the call. I know he lies about it each time, because he always fidgets with his hair or shirt when he would tell me. Which is something he does when he's lying

He comes home late sometimes and it never used to happen just rarely. Of course he's always giving me excuses as well. Which also happen to be lies.

There was even that one time when Lucy thought she saw Shawn with some girl at the Jewelry store. She said they looked like they were going ring shopping. Unfortunately, Lucy's camera on her phone hasn't been working properly so she couldn't take a picture. She also wasn't able to check if it really was Shawn with another girl as she was already running late for an important meeting.

Then there was today in the morning when I went to go retrieve my shades that I left in Shawn's car awhile ago. I entered from the passenger side and that's when I faintly smelled perfume. I don't recognize this scent nor do I have any fragrances that smell like this.

I couldn't stay longer to investigate as Shawn had to leave for work right away. I didn't say anything and decided to wait until I had solid evidence. Now I just don't give a fuck anymore. I just need to know if he really is cheating.I'm going to confront him as soon as he gets home.

I wait for him for another thats when I decide to pack a suit case filled with clothes. It takes me an hour to get my things ready. I walk outside to my car and put the suitcase in the trunk. 
I'm about to get in the car as I see Shawn pull in.

Shawn parks right next to me and quickly gets out of the car to mine.
"Where are you going?"

" It's none of your business." I tell him as I start the car. "Y/n I'm sorry I got held back at work and-"

"Really Shawn?...I'm not stupid, where were you really?" He hesitates and stats quiet for a moment before speaking again. "Y/n I really was held back at work."

I turn off the engine and get out of my car and go to his. I open the passenger seat as he stands there looking at me.
Taking him a minute to realize what I was doing.

He opens his mouth to speak but I cut him off. "If you were really held up at work then why do I smell women's perfume?...and don't say it's mine because I haven't been in your car for awhile!"

"I-I-I can explain..." He grabs my wrist as I try to get in my car. "Save it!" I move his hand away and quickly getting in and locking the doors. To prevent him from trying to open it.

I back out of the drive way and drive to Lucy's.

"Hey y/n-oh nooo what happened? Was it Shawn?...what did he do?"
She pulls me in for a hug. " Yeah it's Shawn...you're right he's cheating on me." I tell her as hot tears come running down my face. " I don't get it...we were doing fine or so I thought-up until two weeks ago when he started acting strange...I mean he would be affectionate and tell me he loved me but then he would go make private phone calls, get back home late and lie to me."

She rubs my back as I continue to rant. " Then you spot him at the mall with someone else, ring shopping and to top it all off his car reeks if women's perfume!" She pulls me in for hug. " Oh y/n I'm so sorry you honestly don't deserve any of this."

After awhile I finally calmed down and went to sleep in the guest room.

I wake up to the beautiful morning sun shining light into the room. I turn on my phone and see several missed calls and messages. Of course all of them are from Shawn. I ignore them all until I get a call from Andrew asking for Shawn.

I guess he didn't show up to work today. I then get a message from Lauren, Shawn's ex. It said to call her, so I did. "Hello? Y/n"

"Umm...yeah?"
"Hey...I know this may seem strange considering that I'm Shawn's ex but please don't give up on Shawn give him another chance- hear him out please..."

Before I could reply she cuts me off.
" You might be thinking if I'm the one who he cheated with...well no I'm not because he didn't cheat-please just let him explain."

I hesitated for a moment and contemplated it- probably for a bit too long because she asked if I was still there. "Okay." I sighed. "I'll give him another chance.

With that I got up and got ready to go back and have a lovely conversation with Shawn.
