Why you ask?
So many reasons. They are just perfect for each other! When they were 5 years old Sapphire got attack by a salamence and Ruby saves her. Later when they grow up they changed their personality for each other. When Ruby and Sapphire was caught in the Team Magma and Aqua's plan Sapphire confessed to Ruby but Ruby doesn't want Sapphire to get hurt so he push Sapphire into his masters aircraft. He even confessed that he likes her!! But that idiot gotta pretend her forgot about the confession!! Well I am gonna ship this ship till I die!
