Chapter 14

Emma woke up sat in a chair, beside Regina's hospital bed. She felt a sense of dejavu, as she looked upon the woman. Only this time there was a bullet in her side. James had gone too far. Mary Margaret swung the door of the room open and walked over to Emma, who stood and hugged her. Henry walked in behind her and also hugged Emma, before wandering over to the bed. He put his hand in Regina's and sobbed.
"Mom?" He asked Emma, "Is she going to be okay?" He looked up at Emma who immediately started sobbing with him.
"I hope so, kid." She whispered. Mary Margaret sat him down in a seat beside the bed, before getting a seat herself. She handed Emma a bag of clean clothes, for both her and Regina, as Emma's were still blood-stained. Emma looked over to her gratefully.
"Have they found Dad? Or James for that matter?" Mary Margaret just shook her head.
"Graham is out looking now. Ruby offered to help him and they seem to be getting on well." Mary Margaret smiled slightly.
"They'll find him. Don't worry." Emma tried to comfort her mother. Then she put her head on her shoulder and nodded off back to sleep.

Emma was shaken awake by a doctor this time.
"Miss Swan? Miss Swan." She opened her eyes and blinked a few times as if trying to remember what was going on.
"Yes?" She asked with a yawn.
"Your friend..."
"Girlfriend." Emma corrected, as she looked up. She began to panic. Regina was gone. As were Henry and her mom.
"Sorry. Your girlfriend has been moved to a different ward. If you'd like to follow me." The doctor said. Emma nodded and stood. She followed the white-haired doctor to a completely different end of the hospital, until finally he ushered her into a room. Emma walked inside to see Regina sat up in her bed, only just awake, being given a drink of water by a nurse.
"Gina..." Emma said choking back tears. Wearily Regina lifted her head. She smiled the brightest she ever had done, as she saw the blonde.
"Em...Em..." Her voice was croaky and the nurse told her not to speak just yet, as due to the blood loss she was still too weak. Then she and the doctor left the women in peace. As soon as the door closed, Emma ran to Regina's side and pressed their lips together. Regina was caught by surprise, but returned the passionate kiss. Eventually Emma pulled away and just looked, smiling at her beautiful girlfriend. Regina weakly lifted her hand and attempted to brush away Emma's tears. Emma gently took her hand and kissed it. She then held it against her cheek and whispered, "I love you, Regina. Please don't leave me. I don't care what happened in the past. I love you." At that tears poured down Regina's flushed cheeks.
"I love you more..." She managed. Then with her free hand she weakly patted the side of her bed. Emma sat up onto it and pulled Regina close to her.
"Oh, I love you so much..." She said, but Regina had already nodded off. Emma laughed a little, before cuddling into her girlfriend and thanking the world that she wasn't taken from her.
