ElseWorld

A dark and rainy day covers the little city of Metropolis, thunder cracks and lightning strikes. In a nearby mansion lives a beautiful brunette girl. The blonde girl is one who can be classified as beauty pageant material. With her fair white skin and nimble frame she wins the hearts of many on the spot, Jasmine, is her name.

Jasmine is asleep in her bed when a tapping noise on her door wakes her up. She gets out of bed and walks to the door, the tapping turns into banging. She jumps back and clears her throat, “Who’s there?” she asks inquisitively, the tapping stops. She takes a deep breath and opens the door, empty, she sighs of relief. A bang is heard downstairs; she grabs the flashlight off the nearby drawer next to the door and walks out into the hall, turning it on. She makes her way to the front door and stops dead. What if it’s a murderer? I don’t think anyone ordered pizza; it’s twelve in the morning. All these thoughts flood her mind but she opens the door with bold bravery.

Daylight, how odd, she thinks. She steps outside and a path appears before her, white flowers surround both sides. Blue sky lights up the earth, one big beautiful garden, no houses in sight. Trees and beautiful plants make up this land; Jasmine is left stunned at the view. She turns around and her house is gone, a flower patch stands in its place. She walks straight on the path and the deeper she goes, the darker and uglier the place gets. The flowers begin to hiss as she passes by, she starts to run and finally she hits the end.

Jasmine sees a village is at the end of the path, she looks at the sky and it is dark with lightning striking down. She notices a group of huddled creatures; she makes her way over to them and squeezes through them. A giant dragon stands next to a cage with a lady trapped inside that looks like a queen. On the side are seven people, handcuffed and standing by a guard who looks a tad sleepy. The dragon’s guard brings out the queen and makes her kneel by a centaur executioner. The dragon roars “Tonight, we will see the death of the Red Queen.” He says. The audience stays quiet but the dragon continues, “For too long she has been in power, and today, it all ends!” The dragon and his guards laugh maniacally. The queen seems unmoved by what is going on, “eerf eht epoh” the queen utters. The handcuffs on the seven people disappear and they all take the chance to run away. The dragon, furious, lifts the queen to his eyes and stares her down. The dragon then slams the queen down onto the ground with a ferocious thud emitting. The dragon roars, “Off with her head!” with a vicious tone. Jasmine gasps and turns around to run, the executioner raises his axe and when thunder cracks he swings his axe down. Jasmine runs to the beginning of the path and the beautiful land catches fire and the sky begins to darken. Lightning strikes in front of her and she jumps back in horror. The dragon appears in front of Jasmine, “eruoy ni na mulysa” the dragon says and suddenly Jasmine wakes up in her bed unharmed.

Jasmine throws off the covers and runs to her window to look outside, she’s back in Metropolis. It was only a dream; she sighs of relief and goes to her closet to change. She runs downstairs wearing a light blue dress, not so tall heels and a mini tiara in her long blonde hair. She greets her mother, “Oh mom! I’m going out for a stroll in the garden” she says with excitement. Maybe I’ll find that place again, it seemed like it needed help she thinks with anxiousness. Jasmine’s mom comes out with two pills and water, “Drink these” her mom says. Jasmine shakes her head no. Her mom suddenly slaps her in the face with her free hand and Jasmine slips to the floor with a yelp. Her mom sets the cup on the floor and grabs Jasmine by the hair. Jasmine screams and flails her arms, “Stop it Jasmine, and take the pills!” Jasmine’s mom yells. Jasmine’s mom takes the pills and shoves them in Jasmine’s mouth and pours the water in. Jasmine swallows in resignation and gets free of her mom’s grasp. Jasmine runs out the front door and doesn’t look back.
