~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Four month time jump~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You rub your eyes, shaking off the last bit of sleep. You pick up your phone and look at the time.
"IT'S ALREADY 10?" You cry. "Gil, get up! We're going to be late for the appointment!" He bolts up and throws off the covers.
"AWESOME IS NEVER LATE!" He jumps out of bed and hurriedly gets dressed. You do
the same, but slower, as you have a hard time moving quickly now that you're pregnant. You put on a simple yet comfortable maternity outfit and begin the walk to the doctor's office with Gilbert. The office is only a few minutes away from your and Gilbert's house, something you really appreciate now that you're finding it harder to walk long distances. You suppose you could always just take the car, but you enjoy walking and the doctors said that exercise was important for a healthy pregnancy. You chat excitedly with Gilbert as you walk into the office.
"I think it's a girl," you tell him.
"My baby is going to be an AWESOME boy," he argues.
"Let's make a bet then. If I'm right, you have to give me a full back massage."
"And if I'm right, which I will be because AWESOME IS ALWAYS RIGHT, you have to cook us dinner for a week. His request surprises you. You were expecting him to ask for something kinky, but dinner is actually kind of... sweet. You take a seat while Prussia signs the two of you in. You read a magazine while you wait for the nurse to call you in. When she does you follow her into the exam room.
You go through the normal exam and then to the ultrasound room.
"Are you ready to find out the sex of the baby." she asks.
"I WAS BORN READY!" Prussia exclaims. "AND AWESOME. I WAS BORN AWESOME AND READY!" The nurse ignores him and starts applying the jelly to you exposed stomach. All three of you stare up at the screen, waiting. Even Prussia goes quiet.
"Congratulation, you two! You're going to be the parents of a beautiful baby girl!" She smiles at you and you beam back.
"Thank you," you tell her. You were hoping it was a girl, but not for the obvious reasons. When you were little, you had a sister. She was younger than you, born about three years after you were. She died of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome when she was just a few months old. It pains you to dwell on the memory, as you miss not getting to watch her grow up. You're glad to have a chance to raise a little girl yourself. You kind of want to name her after your sister, but you fear that would be too much for you. You sit up and take the picture from the nurse, then wash off the jelly and go to make the next appointment. You can't wait to meet your daughter.
"I'll be looking forward to my massage," you whisper to Gilbert as you leave. He smirks and responds, "Only if it's a no clothes affair." You giggle and blush.
