-------
The voice sent chills down Dipper's spine as he stopped dead in his tracks and looked around, only seeing tall trees covered in vines and leaves in different shades of greens. Nothing looked too unordinary, but that, of course, wasn't the case.

"What the...?!" The air seemed to get a bit colder as Dipper analyzed his surroundings, nervous and even a bit scared. He kept in mind that this just might be his mind playing tricks on him. There was no sudden monochrome setting, so this wasn't Bill, which was a relief.  However, if it wasn't him, who was it?

"It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person," said the mysterious voice, "You are Mason Pines, are you not?" Suddenly, a strange man seemed to have appeared within the shadows. The only things that were clearly visible to Dipper were a set of bright purple eyes with a broken heart shape as the pupil. "Although," continued the mysterious figure, "you prefer 'Dipper', no?"

Seeing the practically glowing purple eyes, Dipper quickly stepped back in distress, almost tripping. Thankfully, he caught his balance. The teen's mind raced with a variety of thoughts:

Who was this?
How did they know his name?
Where did he come from?
What was he?

"What-, where did you-?" Dipper stammered. Collecting himself, the brunette decided on a first question to ask this bizarre 'person'. "Who are you?.." The figure then stepped forward. He carried this dark, ominous aura with him, as if he had some kind of hidden intention. "Ah! Forgive me," said the man in some kind of embarrassment, "I have yet to introduce myself. I am Charles, Charles Miseurae, at your service." The man then bowed before the teen, and in that instant the aura had mostly vanished, although there were small traces of it in the air.

This "Charles" made Dipper feel uneasy as he watched the taller male bow before him. He didn't step forward at all, but hung back away from the other brunette. "Charles?.." Dipper seemingly questioned. His voice was identical to the one he heard in his dream the previous night, bringing upon more questions for Dipper. Could Charles had been the one watching him? "Were you... following me before?"

Charles looked to the boy and smiled as he replied, "No, although you could say I was just passing by and I just so happened to see your plight." The man's smile was much more pleasant than Bill's mischievous grin. "And, after seeing your troubling situation," continued Charles, "I decided to help you. And with seeing that you're here, I assume you've accepted my offer?"

"So that was you..." Dipper murmured to himself, and then spoke again at a normal volume. "Yeah, I, uh, guess I did." The teen's uneasiness, most likely started by paranoia, slowly began to fade.

Charles smiled at Dipper, glad that his offer was accepted. "That's great!" exclaimed the purple clad man, "Now I'm going to assume you want my help as soon as possible considering you have a certain yellow demon on your hands."

Dipper's expression changed to annoyance at the mere mention of Bill. "Yeah, Bill's definitely created a big problem-" The teen paused for a moment, confused. "Hold on, how did you know that?" Dipper wondered if possibly Charles was like Bill, because if he was, the brunette would try to get out of there as soon as he could He didn't need another demon in his life. God, all the problems that would create.. Charles chuckled to himself, "As much as you may hate this fact, I am quite familiar with The Cipher." Charles made a slightly annoyed face at the the title. "You see I am a demon as well, and we have an... unpleasant history to say the least," explained Charles, "which is yet another reason why I wish to help you."

"Hmm..." Dipper contemplated. "How do I knowthis isn't one of Bill's tricks, huh? Everything else here is screwed up because of him, so that would make sense." He had to be careful in this changed reality, Dipper felt like somehow the demon was controlling everything that happened and he couldn't trust any of it. How could he? "I understand your skepticism," started the demon, "but I would suggest my offer if you want to get rid of all the things hindering you." Charles looked to the teen with a soft expression, as if he wanted to become friends. "I am truly sorry for all that Bill has done to you," stated Charles with hints of anger, "If you want me to, I can make him pay for what he's done and make him leave you alone."

The offer was definitely tempting, no doubt about that. Maybe Dipper should give it a try and Charles a chance? "You.. you could do that?" He paused for a moment, thinking. It would be nice to have someone who would help him get Bill out of his life, someone who believed what he says has happened. "Alright, I'll take your offer."

"Excellent."
