I laugh at the reaction i get when i arrive in the dining hall. As i walk in the hall comes to a hush and my eyes sweep over the room until they find their target, Four. I see the glint coming from my face because of all my piercings and smile. I drop into the seat next to Four. "Well, aren't you going to introduce me?" I ask nodding toward the Stiff and the Candor girl. "This is Tris and Christina." Four says motioning to the Stiff, Tris and the Candor, Christina. "Ooh, a Stiff," I smirk at her and feel my piercings move around, making her wince. "We'll see how long you last." And stare at her until i can feel her become uncomfortable. I tap my knuckles against the table showing of the scabs i have from punching. "What have you been doing lately, Four?" I ask him. He lifts a shoulder "Nothing, really." I force myself to relax even when i want to punch him so badly, he irks my to much. "Max tells me he keeps trying to meet with you, and you don't show up," I say "He requested that I find out whats going on with you." That gets his attention and he looks at me for a few seconds before replying "Tell him that i am satisfied with the position i currently hold." That makes me growl on the inside, if Four even thinks about taking my leadership i will personally take care of him, like we did with Amar, Fours instructor, but he was also Divergent so there was multiple meaning to that. "So he wants to get you a job." Better not be mine. I think as my lip piercings catch the light again. I really hope Max isn't serious about giving Four my job. "It would seem so." He says casually. "And you aren't interested?" I ask just to make sure. "I haven't been interested for two years." He says and that make me relax more. "Well, lets hope he gets the point, then." I say as i clap Four on the shoulder as hard as i could and walked off toward Marge and Max. Max motions outside and i follow him out. "There has been a delay on the serum that the Erudite are making. Do you know what it is?" He asks me "Yeah, apparently there was a problem with the aptitude tests and one had to be manually logged in." I say. "So, she said that one result had to be logged in manually?" Max asked "Yeah, and it just so happens to be that Stiff. The tattoo artist, Tori, administrated it, and she said the Stiff got sick and she forgot to record it. But Jeanine doesn't believe it." I whisper. "Maybe its true. Shes small enough, maybe Tori didn't proportion the simulation serum for her, and gave her too much. Too much serum gets anyone sick." Max said. "For now, we don't have enough evidence to prove she is a potential rebel. But keep and eye on her simulations when stage two comes around, just to be sure." I nod "I'll see if i can find anything out during stage, too. Personality changes, and such." Max nods approvingly at my suggestion then we part. Him to his office while I walk back into the hall to gather the initiates. I walk down the halls with them following me. I stop at the wooden door leading to where the initiate will be sleeping for initiation. "Those of you who don't know, my name is Eric, I am one of the five Dauntless leaders. We take the Dauntless initiation very seriously here, so i volunteered to oversee your training." I smile as some people exchange looks. "Some ground rules, you will be in the training room by 8 o'clock everyday. Training takes place everyday from 8 to 6, with a break for lunch. You are free to do whatever you like after six. You will also get some time off after each stage of initiation." If you get through it. I thought in my head. "You are only permitted to leave the compound when accompanied by a Dauntless," I add "Behind this door is the room where you will be sleeping for the next few weeks. You will notice that there are ten beds and only nine of you. We anticipated that a higher proportion of you would make it this far." I roll my eyes as Christina protests "But we started out with twelve." I pick at my cuticles and shrug "There is always at least one transfer who doesn't make it to the compound. Anyway, in the first stage of initiation, we keep transfers and Dauntless-born initiates separated. At the end of initiation, your rankings will be determined in comparison with the Dauntless-born initiates. And they are better than you already so i expect-" I was cut off by Molly "Rankings?" she asks "Why are we ranked?" I smile "Your ranking serves two purposes. The first is that it determines the order in which you will select a job after initiation. There are only a few desirable positions available." And the second reason makes me smile more. "The second purpose, is that only the top ten initiates are made members." Every transfer goes as still as a statue. Then Christina says "What?" I ignore her and continue "There are eleven Dauntless-born and nine of you,Four initiates will be cut at the end of stage one. The remainder will be cut after the final test." I can see the Stiff staring at me with something like shock and horror mixed together in her eyes. Meaning six initiates wont become members. "What do we do if we get cut?" Peter says. "You leave the Dauntless compound," I say not showing any emotion, "and live factionless." The mousy-haired girl stifles a sob with her hand. I think that's Myra. "But that's not fair!" A broad-shouldered Candor girl, Molly i think, says. She sounds angry but looks terrified. "If we had known-" I cut her off and snapped. "Are you saying that if you had known this before the Choosing Ceremony, you wouldn't have chosen Dauntless? Because if that's the case, you should get out now. If you are really one of us, it wont matter to you that you might fail. And if it does, you are a coward." I push open the door to their dormitory. "You chose us, now we need to choose you." I say then i go to the control room to watch the cameras. When i get there the room is empty and my eyes are dragged to the camera in the transfers dormitory, I can see more than half of them silently crying as I turn up the volume. I hear someone crying out loud and notice that it is that large, broad Candor boy. Al. He is the only one making noise but i can tell that everyone is crying or on the verge of crying, with the exception of Peter who is fast asleep, but Al is the only one sobbing. What a pansycake.

Just for those of you who don't know what a pansycake is, it is such a low insult that almost no one uses it anymore. It means your a coward or sissy.
