"I'm going back to the Isle."
Smash.
"You broke my favorite tea cup, you bloody idiot."
The frantic white-haired girl mumbled an apology as she wiped up the shattered pieces of a teacup off the grassy floor. She always had a delayed reaction, just a smidge too late.
The two girls sat in the middle of a dark dense forest, a table of cold tea to the side as they inhabited the hoard of mushrooms beside it. Frozen clocks dangled from the twisted branches and a fog drifted over them. The night shone bright and the moon smiled down on them, but the place looked rotted, and as if it was slowly dying.
"I don't see why you think this is a good idea." the frantic girl mumbled, "Last time you went you came back angry and hissy."
The girl who lay down glared and sat up to nudge Whitney, the frantic, and sit beside her. The air grew thick and when Whitney went to say something to the other, Cherry, they heard a rustle.
"I heard the word tea and came."
Madden, a charming bloke, walked towards them looking around for tea only to see a cold pot. He frowned and turned to Cherry and Whitney.
"Cherry wants to go back to the Isle."
Cherry gasped at Whitney's confession and slapped her arm getting a small wince from Whitney. Madden's jaw slacked as his crystal blue eyes stared the angry girl down, "You must be going completely bonkers."
"We're in Wonderland it's what we do." Cherry replied getting off the mushroom and walking towards the middle table, "But this idea is perfectly logical, I'm going to bring the Hat back."
Thud.
"Whitney, did you just fall off the mushroom?" Madden said with a laugh as he helped Whitney up. Whitney dusted herself off quickly and turned to her friend she thought a complete lunatic.
"Bringing the Hat back won't fix anything." she blurted waving her hands everywhere before looking to Madden for encouragement, but she got nothing of the sort.
"My dad would be jolly to see it again."
Whitney groaned and Cherry waved her off, "If I go back to the Isle I could find a way to Auradon and get it back, then everyone could go to Auradon, we won't be stuck in Wonderland for the rest of our lives."
"Auradon won't let us there, Alice told them we wanted to chop her head off!"
Cherry paused and thought about Whitney's comment, "Then, I need to prove them wrong."
"They won't give it to you Cherry." Whitney explained her white hair falling over half her face as she became more frazzled. "There's no way."
"Then I'll take it by force." Cherry explained grasping Whitney's hand in hopes to calm her, "If I can get the Hat back for Wonderland we could all live outside this world, our dads could be human again, we could live a different life of sweets you've never heard off, customs you don't understand."
"Sounds strange."
"Which is why Wonderland needs it." Cherry explained, "I know last time I went was because of boredom, and I left in a rough patch but seeing everyone in Wonderland grow weaker and weaker because of the absence of the Hat, Alice, magic is frustrating."
Madden interrupted, "My father said we weren't losing magic. That's just a fib."
"Then he's lying Mads. My dad is the most trustworthy person I know when it comes to truth, he knows Wonderland is dying, I plan on doing something about it." Cherry explained holding Whitneys' and Maddens' hands reassuringly. She smiled to both of them with the brightest smile in Wonderland. The two though skeptical and wary had a feeling Cherry's mind would not be swayed, and they nodded their heads in submission and understanding.
"Tomorrow I sail across the sea of tears, and I'll go to the Isle."
