Chapter 2

"Ugh" I groan as I wake up the next morning. My entire body hurts. I get up and look at myself in the mirror.  My eyes are red and puffy from crying, and so is my nose. My hair even messier than usual and I'm still wearing yesterday's outfit. I look, like a hobo.

I take out some clothes from my closet and put them on my bed. Then I go to the shower to take a bath. I take my time, showering has always made me feel better. When I'm done, I go back to my room to change. I'm planning to go take a walk in the park so I wear a red sweater, black jeans, and my favorite brown boots. I apply a teeny bit of make up, just to cover up my haggard face. I leave my waist length hair as it is, just hanging down my back in subtle waves.

I walk downstairs to find my parents and siblings already eating breakfast. My mom looks up and smiles at me as if nothing happened last night. My dad just keeps on eating his pancakes. My brothers and sisters, of course, don't even notice. That's the bright side in these situations, my mom isn't as adamant about the whole thing as my dad is. She's more lenient and I'm sure, if it weren't for my dad, she would openly support my decisions. My dad, on the other hand, really, really, wants me to follow in his footsteps. But I also know that he has my best interests at heart ( this is why I said our arguments were petty. All the screaming and crying are just emotions in haywire). He's just having a hard time accepting the fact  that his baby girl is all grown up and capable of making her own decisions.

"How are you feeling, sweetie?" My mom asks me.

"Fine." I tell her.

She pats the seat next to her, motioning me to sit down. I take my seat and my dad passes me the plate of pancakes.

"Thanks." I mutter.

Although I did say that our arguments aren't really serious, it's takes a couple of hours before I speak to my dad again.

"Are you planning to go somewhere?" My mom asks.

"Yeah." I tell her. "I'm meeting Kia in the park."

"Oh, that's nice." She says "What time are you leaving?"

"After breakfast." I answer.

"Oh ok." She says.

We finish eating and I run upstairs to get my bag, with only my phone, book, and lipgloss inside.

I rush down the stairs and kiss my mom goodbye.

"Bye mom, love you." I say.

" Love you too." She answers.

I go to my dad and give him a kiss too.

" Bye dad, love you." I say.

"Bye ta, love you too." He says. That's what he calls me, 'ta'.

I smile to myself as I walk out the door. All's well that ends well.
