Hi. My name is Andi Jackson, half-blood from New York. You've probably never heard of me, but my brother, Percy Jackson.

I was always in the background, in the shadow of my brother. However I have my own story that I'm recording in this diary. So here we go.

It all started when I was twelve years old and Summer break had just started.

I sat on my bed, putting my suitcase down. I arrived home before my brother, Percy. That was surprising, as I lived farther away from Manhattan than him. All I knew about him from this year is that he was expelled and had a friend named Grover. My year wasn't the best, but I managed to get through.

I sighed. Percy has always been more reckless than me. It got him into trouble, but at least he had a friend- Grover. I heard about him from when we came home for Winter Break. I was shy, and got nervous around people. It prevented me from having friends, but it was easier this way. No one worried about me.

I heard Gabe, my step-father, yell from the living room, and sadly, I instantly knew that Percy was home. My thoughts were confirmed when the my twin  ran into the room that we shared.

Our amazing and wonderful mother always said that Percy had our father's sea green eyes and unruly black hair. While I had the same green eyes, I got our mother's brown hair. It was wavy and slightly curly.

"So how were you expelled?" I asked in a very quiet voice, nervous around the twin that I barely knew.

Percy shrugged. "I called a teacher an old sot, whatever that means." I should have known he had been lying, but my instinct at the tine had been to believe anything I heard.

"YOU WHAT?!" I stood up. "You called your teacher an old drunk?!"

Percy laughed. "I guess so."

I sighed. "When will you ever learn, Percy."

"So did Gabe give you any trouble?" Percy asked me.

I shook my head. "No."

I shifted around uncomfortable lying, but he didn't seem to catch on, which was good.

"Good, because I would kill him if he hurt you." Percy smiled at me and hugged me. I smiled and hugged back, trying to get over the guilt in my chest.

We sat there, talking for a while, catching up on each other's lives. That is until omeone else entered the room.
