Sometimes I feel like I just need to hide under my covers for a little bit, and squeeze my eyes shut, as if to erase all of my mistakes and regrets.

She told me to shut off the silence cause she can't stand the noise
Turn up the bass, tune out the sorrow, raise the volume of your voice
Let the harmony of a thousand oceans make peace with what I am
Let my mind be filled with thoughts so pure I can write them in the sand
If darkness makes it hard to see, don't blow the candle out
Let the flame guide your heart back home, and your soul will mend somehow. -11/16/15
There's always a reason to be afraid in this world; monsters, criminals, war, disaster
Fear has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it
One minute, you're living a quiet, small-town life, drinking coffee and working a part-time job just to pay your rent
The next minute, everything you thought you knew shattered, torn apart, and you're suddenly thrust into a life you're not sure you know how to navigate
You're constantly double checking the locks on your doors, being ready to run at the slightest sound of an odd noise, not able to sleep unless the TV is on to drown out the silence
Fear changes you, and when you live with it for so long, you become addicted to it
And once you're addicted to fear, nothing else matters. -11/30/15
