Do you ever lay alone awake a night?
Thinking of the things that just might?
How the future used to seem so far away,
And how close it seems today?Do you worry about what the world will be like when you grow old?
Are you afraid for your story to unfold?First you think back to when you were little,
How life was a powerful force but now it seems brittle.
You are afraid that at the drop of a hat a loved one could die,
You want to just stop time-No one blink an eye!
You like the way things are now,
And you don't wish to take your final bow.You see others take for granted a single breath,
But they could lose it and that means death.
And now with your life laid out in front of you,
You aren't sure exactly what to do.Well, I have some tips lined up for you: Be mindful and always pay your dues,
Be kind and don't be confused.
Confused with wrong and right?
Be true to yourself and your future will be bright. But for now just rest your little head and close your eyes,
You know, being old can be a blessing in disguise.
Take it from me, now an old maid,
You will learn a few tricks of the trade.
Life itself is a glorious thing,
And I don't want you to waste it all worrying.Love yourself and love your friends,
You will make it to the very end.
