It was again one of these days. One of these days, where the young prince was more than annoyed. Once again he had to stand up early in the morning, his precious sleep deprived. And on top of that, one of his friends just didn't want to stop babbling around. "Can you finally shut up, Prompto?" "But Noct~", the blonde male, named Prompto, whined. "There will be Chocobos everywhere! Aren't you excited?" A huge smile, brighter than the sun, was playing on his lips as he looked at his best friend. Noctis heaved a sigh and crossed his arms above his chest. "Not really, because we've already seen them at the Chocobo Farm." His gaze wandered towards the wide ocean, admiring the beautiful view. Prompto pouted, crossing his arms as well. "You're no fun, Noct." "Whatever.", the prince commented, ending this conversation. For a few seconds Prompto stared at his friend, eventually deciding to leave him on his own. He turned around and walked towards his other best friends, Ignis and Gladiolus. The both of them were sitting on their seats, talking about random things. With a sigh he plopped down on the seat beside the bespectacled men. "What's wrong, Prompto?", he immediately asked. "Let me guess, our prince is in a bad mood today.", Gladiolus said. "Yep. He's absolutely no fun!", the blonde complained, earning a light chuckle from the royal adviser. "It can't be helped." "That's just how Noct is, if he had to wake up so early in the morning.", the royal guard added, now looking at the crown prince. "We're soon arriving in Altissia. Just let him be alone for the meantime.", Ignis suggested. "What are you guys talking about?", a female voice suddenly spoke up. The three friends turned their heads towards the voice, smiling. "Oh, nothing important.", Gladiolus answered your question, a smirk visible on his face. Suddenly Prompto jumped from his seat, taking your small hands in his. "(y/n)! You're just as excited as I am. Am I right?", he asked, hope was glistening in his bright blue eyes. "You mean, because of the carnival? And because we get to see so many Chocobos and Moogles like we've never seen before? I'm beyond excited!" A giggled slipped from your lips, loud enough to gain the young prince's attention. His blue eyes found your figure, the barest hint of a smile gracing his features as he saw the happiness reflecting on your face. "But we shouldn't forget that we're actually on a mission. We have to find Lady Lunafreya as soon as possible." Prompto groaned and let go of your hands, before meeting the royal adviser's gaze. "C'mon, Ignis! Don't be such a party pooper like Noct. It's the last day of the carnival." "And we all agreed to take a little break from our mission. It's only one day. And... and we can't miss the Chocobos!", you supported your best friend. Gladiolus couldn't suppress a laugh as he saw the both of you. He knew how badly you and Prompto wanted to see the Chocobos at the carnival. It wasn't a secret how much you loved these magnificent birds with their cute "kweh" sounds. A sigh escaped from Ignis' lips. "Fine, but tomorrow we'll continue our mission." "Yay!", Prompto and you exclaimed in delight.

"Oh, right! Cid said he wants to see you, Ignis." "Alright. Thanks, (y/n)." He rose from his seat and walked to the master mechanic, who had currently control of the boat. After Ignis left, your blonde friend plopped down on his seat again and took out his camera, taking photos of the beautiful view. Your gaze traveled towards the prince, who was still sitting by himself. "He seems pretty lonely." You looked back at the two males in front of you. "Why's Noctis sitting there alone?" "Apparently he woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.", Gladiolus informed you, before Prompto added, "That's why Ignis suggested to let him be by himself until we arrive in Altissia." Once again your (e/c) eyes found his figure and right at this moment he turned his head towards you. Your gazes locked, feeling a smile spreading upon your lips. Noctis returned your smile, before yet again looking at the ocean and his stunning view.
