"Aite, listen up." It was almost Thanksgiving break, which means final exams were coming up. "As yall know, Thanksgiving break starts this Wednesday. However, that doesn't mean yall are off the hook for studying." The whole class groaned in frustration.

"So you gone make us study on our Thanksgiving break?" Keith asked.

"Yep."

"And you still ain't gone help us out a little bit?" Woody asked.

"Issa no dawg."

Woody smacked his lips and mumbled something to Keith while Algee sat quietly. He hasn't said a single word to me since the day he stormed out of my apartment. He was giving me the coldest glare I ever seen. The bell rang, signaling everyone to go to their next class. Algee got up and walked past me like I wasn't even there. "I know this lil boy did not just--" I thought before I caught myself.

It was the end of the day. I was on my way out of the school until I heard some chatter in one of the hallways. I peeked around the corner and see Algee flirting with some cheerleader.

"You should really let me borrow your jacket sometimes," the girl commented about his red jacket with black flowers on it.

"Maybe. I'll think about it. Hit me up later, aite?" He said. The girl nodded before they separated. As soon as he turned the corner, we were face to face.

"Really? So that's what we doing now?" I asked. "We're flirting with other people now?"

"Might as well since I'm nothing but some dick to you."

"I don't have time for this." I waved my hand and walked away from him.

"Why don't you admit it? If you got feelings for me, show them. Don't play with my emotions cuz you're unsure about yours." He said as he followed me outside. "Do you even love me at all?"

I stopped in my tracks and turned to him. "I do. I'm just afraid."

"Of what?"

"Being hurt again."

"I'm not gonna hurt you."

"That's what the last one said." I looked down. Algee walked closer to me and lifted up my head.

"Adina, I'm serious. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't have let this go on for the past 3 months. What other 18 yr old you know would be still chasing after an older woman?"

I slapped his chest. "I'm not that much older than you."

He chuckled. "I know, but what I'm tryna say is I just want you to trust me and know that I'm all about you. Okay?"

I nodded. "Okay."

"Now, are you gonna be busy Thursday?" He asked while he walked me to my car.

"No."

"Great. I want you to meet my parents."

My eyes widened in shock. "Huh? Why??"

"I want them to know who I'm serious about. Mama always told me when I see what I want, I get it. I wanted you, I got you, and I'm not letting you go."

I tried my hardest not to blush, but he has a way with words. "Okay. I'll do it since we're serious with each other now."

His smile grew big on his face and he opened my car door for me. "Let me know when you make it home with yo slim thick ass."

I laughed. "Okay baby."

"I love you."

"I love you, too." I smiled, knowing that I meant it this time. I pulled out of the parking lot and went home.
