"Here, wear this!" Raya suggested, handing me another shirt from her closet as she tried to find me an outfit for tonight. Even with me telling her five times it was unnecessary, she refused, saying I HAVE to be perfect.
As soon as both girls were free last night, both found themselves in my dorm room asking a hundred questions at once. Who was he? Where he was from? Did he have any friends? I rolled my eyes so much, I'm surprised they didn't get stuck in the back of my head. Since I only knew so little about him, I could only answer a few questions, so of course, they decided to look him up on Instagram.
Apart of me wanted to read up about him but I personally wanted to ask him about himself and not depend on the internet for all the answers. Raya and Chelez spent a few minutes looking through his pictures and info, squealing like school girls when certain pics of him popped up.
I eyed the sheer like top and tossed it right into the pile of other shirts I refused to wear. "You do realize the weather will be kinda chilly tonight," I explained to her, glancing over the countless tops that were clearly meant for summer nights.
Raya huffed getting somewhat frustrated with me but I didn't care. "Why you gotta be so damn difficult Mariah? You've always been so picky."
"How? I just don't want to be out there shivering my ass off tryna be cute."
While I wanted to look nice for Christian, I wasn't trying to go all out. I could look stylish but comfortable at the same time. Raya being the fashionista that she is, should know that of all people.
I smiled sheepishly at her giving me an unamused look before walking over to Chelez closet to rummage through her things. After a few minutes, she finally pulled out a pair of dark blue jeans, a round neck white top with small tribal print and a dark gray kimono. "Now I know you can't say no to this one. It's way too cute." Raya gushed happily, handing me the clothes for me to put on. I was thankful that we all wore about the same size.
Once I got dressed after a quick shower, Raya did me the honors of doing my makeup, keeping it light just how I liked it. I knew how much I liked to ride just about everything at the fair, so I decided to be on the safe side and stick to a low ponytail.
"I don't think you give yourself enough cred Mariah, you're definitely one of the prettiest girls here on campus," Raya spoke up after giving me a once over smiling at her finished work.
It wasn't that I didn't think I was pretty, I just never hyped myself up. "Thank you, Ray."
As soon as I grabbed my phone to check the time, a text from Christian flashed across the top. I couldn't stop the huge smile from forming on my face even if I tried. "Must be Christian texting you because I never seen you smile that damn hard at your phone unless you're playing one of those silly games you like so much."
"Hey, the sims freeplay isn't silly. It's fun." I told her, swiping the text to open it. Reading it over I sent a quick answer back and grabbed everything that I would need, placing my crossbody bag over my chest. "I gotta go meet him near the back parking lot."
"I can't believe you're actually going to go on your first date."
"Please stop."
"Nope. My baby is growing up." She tried to pinch my cheeks but thank god I had quick reflexes and slapped her hands away. "Fine. Just have a good time and text or call me if something happens."
"I will. See you later." I waved bye to her and made my way towards the back of the school since it was closer to the dorms I stayed in. My hands started to get a little clammy the closer I got, knowing he would be there waiting for me. Just as the weatherman said earlier, it was pretty cool out making tonight just right.
