She didn't like birds.
They were the epitome of joy, happiness, liberty and freedom.
Everything she wasn't.
Everything she couldn't be.She screamed to them sometimes, interrupting their buoyant singing, crying for help that would never come.
Once, a bird pecked her beak against the glass, as if trying to break it.
It didn't work.
She flew away sadly, taking away the little hope with her.
That was the day she stopped believing in miracles.
