When Monday strolls around Daniel gladly presents his physics project with his group. He's finally stress free! And even better, is now available to help Woojin with his dance. During lunch he sits with his usual group of friends Jihoon, Dongho, and Minhyun. Although Jisung is his best friend, he's been running for class president and is too busy doing good deeds or strategizing with his "political campaign management," whatever that means. He looks around for Woojin, who should've been done with Literature class by now. He sighs. Where's my Woojinie?
"Dude, maybe he doesn't wanna sit with us today."
Daniel rolls his eyes. Of course it would be Dongho to say that. As Daniel scans the  cafeteria for the hundredth time he has to do a triple take because is that really Woojin sitting with Kenta, Taehyun, Yongguk, and a few others?
"What the fu-"
"Eh eh. No fowl language like that here, mister," Minhyun scolds and Daniel scoffs.
"I was gonna say fudge. Why the fudge is my Woojin over there eating WITH OUT ME??!"
His knuckles gripping the sides of his plate.
"Just go over there, hyung. Maybe they asked him and he didn't want to say no," Jihoon piped in with his cheerful positivity. Daniel sighs.
"Maybe you're right. I'm gonna go talk to him."
Daniel gets up and walks to their table. He sees Woojin laughing and chatting it up with everyone and Daniel holds down his anger.
"Woojin?" Daniels asks and Woojin looks up as his laughter dies down.
"Oh.. hey hyung. Um. What's up?"
"Can we... can we talk real quick?"
"Um...," Woojin looks quickly to Kenta then at Daniel, "yeah."
They go out of the loud cafeteria and near some random locker.
"Y-yes?" Woojin asks and Daniel gives him an uncertain look.
"So why aren't you sitting with me?"
"I um.. I- I thought giving me- you! a break would be fine. I mean I'm annoying sometimes," Woojin fidgets with his fingers and sways back and forth, not even making eye contact with Daniel.
"Are you okay? Why are you acting like this?"
Woojin doesn't respond.
Daniel takes a step forward, getting closer to Woojin which makes the younger gulp.
"I never need a break from you. Ever. You should know that by now. You're the best and you know I love having you around. My little Woojinie."
Daniel smiles.
Woojin awkwardly laughs.
"Okay hyung. I- I'll probably eat with you on Wednesday or something. I've got plans tomorrow with Kenta hyung."
"What? Plans?? And what about practice, are we practicing after school?"
"No I um actually asked Jungkook hyung for help again. For after school and um the rest of the the week."
"But I don't understand-"
"Hyung I have to go. Lunch will be over soon," without waiting for a reply Woojin dashes out of the hallway and makes his way right back into the cafeteria.  Daniel stands there, stunned. He's never been treated like this by Woojin before. He feels rejected. Daniel doesn't even notice he had been crying, but realizes it when water is running down his cheek. This is what rejection must feel like, he thought. Not feeling a trace of hunger anymore he makes his way to his next class early. When more tears stream down his face he can't handle it anymore. He stops walking to his next class and turns around. He heads to his locker and collects his things. He gets what he needs from the locker and makes his way to his car. Fuck school. Fuck feelings. Fuck everyone.
He slams the car door closed and revs the engine, speedily driving off.
He wipes his tears and laughs.
Why am I laughing? I'm not a baby.
His heart hurts, his chest hurts, everything hurts. He's been set on fire and the only one who can put that fire out really doesn't want anything to do with him. Woojin's never acted like this? What could he have even done to deserve such a cold behavior? Once home, he puts on pajamas and just lies in bed. Tears silently falling because he refuses to let pitiful sobs or cries come out.
