Matts-POV
I walked over to the girl reading in the corner. She had just gotten off work and walked across the street into the library, sitting down in her usual position in the chair that sat in the corner of the room.
"Hi there," I said, quite smoothly I must admit.
She looked me up and down as if eyeing up an opponent before a fight then began speaking, "What would you like?" She must have had a long day at work, or maybe some rude customers because she seemed clearly annoyed. "Well I noticed you were sitting over here all alone, I figured you might want some company," saying as I sat in the adjacent chair and began to open my book, peering over the top to see her reaction.
Kits-POV
I looked him up and down once more trying to detect what his intentions were. No matter how nice any one is, there is always a catch. Always.
"Is there something I can help you with sir? or do you insist on barging in on my personal space." I whisper-yelled maybe a bit too harshly. Slightly taken aback at first and then regaining his cool he smirked "I don't mean to offend,"too innocently as if he wouldn't hurt a fly, " I simply wanted to sit next to a pretty girl and enjoy my book" looking back to his book and happily relaxing as if he had accomplished something and quickly added "And it's Matt, by the way, no need for that fancy talk."
No, not safe. Run
I paused for a minute before saying "Kit," with a slight nod then quickly returned to the lovely story I had been enjoying for the past few minutes. What am I doing I should leave. My feet tingle, but some how I resist the urge to move them. Strange, I can almost never not act on my tendencies.
---short Time Skip---
We had been sitting and reading quietly for the past four hours and it was nearly 8 pm and beginning to become dark outside and the city lights starting to become brighter. I Started to grab my bag and shove the book inside and walk out of the door when I realized that Matt had gotten up as well and followed me out.
"Hey," he coughed trying to catch up to me "You know it's getting dark, would you like me to escort you to your apartment?" He said thinking he had some how enticed me with his 'charm' and 'romance'. "Look," I said. "I'm sure you're a perfectly fine person, but I'd really rather not have a complete stranger know where I live," still walking briskly, almost stepping on one of the cracks making my hand twitch annoyingly, headed to the cross walk pushing the button to cross the street.
"Then I guess I'll have to get your number and take you out so we won't be strangers any longer." Wow was he smooth, but still, he was a stranger and the voices in my head simply screamed when he was standing next to me, urging me to move, telling me I wasn't safe. "Nice try, but I'm not a Lady and you aren't any nobleman or prince, and happily ever after's are simply make believe so you aren't getting me that quickly."
"Well, M'Lady, I guess I'll have to try again tomorrow," He said as he rounded the corner and headed for a different apartment building, not looking back.
AN: Hey, sorry for a little bit of a short chapter, it's kinda just a filler to get to where I'm wanting this story to go. Again, if there are any grammar and/or spelling mistakes please let me know (:
