A month later, during October, Esmeralda was almost ready to start school. Her new Mom and her began to talk about trivial things to help her catch up since it would be the middle of the year.
After the 4 day weekend, Esmeralda started school on Wednesday. Unlike most kids who rode the bus that day, she was driven to school a bit late by Maroda.
Her first class was an hour long due to it being her 2nd block as well. This was Art Class.
In that class, she had many kids approach her asking her many, many questions.
"Where did you love before?"
"Um... Tennessee..."
"How old are you?"
"Almost 15..."
"When's your birthday?"
"November 10th."
"Do you have a boyfriend?"
"O-Oh... No I don't..."
"What happened to your Dad?"
"He... Well... He... Wrecked..."
"When did you Dye your hair Green?"
"Not too long ago..."
After a long few classes of constant questions, it was time for lunch. At her school they had an area for outdoor lunch and even had umbrellas if you wanted to sit and watch the rain.
On this day, it was drizzling so some kids were outside laughing and talking. Seeing an opening at an empty table, Esmeralda grabbed her lunch and ran outside quite excitedly.
As she ate however, she overheard three girls talking. All three looked quite popular though they sat by themselves. Being curious, Esmeralda listened in.
"The new girls ACTUALLY sitting out here! Ugh!" The blonde said in disgust.
"Her green hair looks like mold." The brunette laughed.
"Her Mom's really young too! I bet she was some kind of adopted kid or her Mom was a slut when she was younger!" The black haired girl laughed.
Despite hearing them clearly, she never spoke a word against them. It obviously pissed her off how they talked rudely of her Mom but she chose to let it slide on this occasion.
A few minutes later after spacing out, a boy sat in front of her. He has slick backed hair with vibrant green eyes. Almost like a Movie Star! It was quite mesmerizing, so much so that Esmeralda blushed mildly and looked off a bit.
"So, you're the new girl? I didn't expect her to be so cute." He chuckled.
"Uh... Yeah! That's me... New girl..."
"What's your name?"
"Tif-... I mean I'm... Esmeralda Valentine..."
He smiled. "Mind if I call you Esme?"
She shrugged a bit. "Not at all."
Thought she heard the girls laughing nearby she chose to ignore them. Just a few minutes before the bell rang to end class, Maroda picked Esmeralda up.
"So, how was your first day of school?"
"Pretty awesome... I met this guy named Lewis... He's on the basketball team..." She smiled before frowning a bit. "There was three girls that were laughing at me though..."
"Laughing at you?"
"Yeah..."
"I see... Well, I guess we'll have to start your training now..."
