Zayn's POV

I walk downstairs to the basement to find my sister lying down on the bed. Liam sees me walking down the steps and makes eye contact with me.

"She's fine mate," he says. "She should be waking up soon."

"Thank God," I reply, instantly feeling relieved. I sit down in the chair that is beside the bed and look at Doniya. Her painful expression makes me feel angry and upset at the same time. They shot her. They fucking shot her. I watch as Liam pulls up a chair beside me and sits down.

"I'm sorry about what happened today mate," he says before patting me on the back.

"It's alright," I mumble. I know exactly what he's gonna talk about next and I'm not in the mood to fucking hear it right now.

"No it isn't mate," he replies. "She played us all. Not just you. I never would have thought she would have ratted us out. It doesn't make any sense to me."

"Well everything is not what it seems Liam," I say before placing my face in both of my hands, trying to control myself from snapping at him.

"She was such a nice girl. Zayn, I honestly think something went wrong. I honestly don't believe she would have done that to you or u-"

"Well she did Liam!" I snap, cutting him off from saying anything else. "She fucking did. So let's just stop talking about it okay?"

Liam shifts uncomfortably in his chair and clears his throat. He brings his attention to my sister and then begins to speak again.  "You know, your sister is pretty brave," he says before letting out a small chuckle.

"I know she is," I say before I smile a little. "Just like my mom."

"You know she would be proud of you Zayn."

I laugh at Liam's remark. "I'm not sure about that."

If anything, she would be upset that I basically forgot about my sisters for 5 years. But, I honestly didn't. I could never forget about them.

"It's true," he says before smiling at me. "You sacrificed everything to keep your sisters safe...and I respect you for that. I would do the same for my sisters too."

         "Thanks man."

Suddenly I hear several footsteps from upstairs and then I hear Harry and my sisters coming down the steps.

"Is she alright?" Harry asks before nervously biting his lip.

"She's fine mate," Liam says. Suddenly I hear Doniya let out a small moan and watch as she raises her eyebrows.

"Yeah, I'm fine Harold," she says before letting out a small, drowsy laugh.

Both of my sisters run over to Doniya and give her a small hug.

"I'm so happy that you're okay Doniya," Waliyah says.

"I'm happy that you are okay. You both," Doniya says while smiling.

This is the first time that I have actually seen my sister smile in a while. My sisters must make her very happy. I'm glad.

"How did you find us?" Waliyah asks while looking at me and Doniya.

"It was kinda weird actually," Doniya says before biting her lip. "I found an envelope on the counter when I walked in the house. I opened it and there was the address. The letter said the DeSanta's had you, and it told me to come here and find Zayn."

"A letter?" I say before raising my eyebrows.

"Yes, a letter. It was anonymous though."

"That seems very suspicious if ya ask me," Niall says.

"Yeah, I don't have a good feeling about it either."

I really mean it. Why the fuck would someone do that?

"Well whatever," Doniya says. "We got our sisters back, that's all that matters. Besides, what if the person is trying to help us Zayn?"

"No one would reach out and help us Doniya. We are everyone's enemies."

"But still Zayn, they could be hel-"

"Just drop it Doniya," I say coldly. Doniya narrows her eyes at me and clenches her jaw.

"Don't fucking take your anger out on me because you fucking got dumped today," she hisses at me. "Told ya that little bitch didn't love you," she says before laughing.

"Shut up Doniya," I say cooly, trying to control my anger in front of my little sisters. My patience is fucking thin right now.

"She took advantage of you. She blinded you. You were in love with her weren't you?" she laughs. "Too bad she lied to you."

        That's fucking it!

"Doniya shut the fuck up!" I shout making my sisters look at me with fearful eyes. "You have no idea what the fuck you are talking about. You just got here, and you think you know everything about me. YOU DON'T!" I shout. "You haven't seen me in 5 fucking years."

"AND WHOSE FUCKING FAULT IS THAT?" she shouts at me. "It's not fucking mine. You wanted to take dad's place in the gang. You didn't have to. We could have went to London together right now. All of us," she says, glancing at everyone in the room. "I could have been in college, living a normal life." I watch as her eyes light up as she mentions college. "I could have had a boyfriend maybe. But no," she says coldly. " I'm fucking back here in America, where I left years ago. I'm back here in the fucking house that our parents were murdered in. I'm here paranoid as ever, and you have the nerve to fucking yell at me!"

Doniya looks at me on the verge of tears, and I instantly feel sorry for yelling at her.

         "I'm sorry Don-"

"Save your shit Zayn," she says before sighing. Doniya moves so that her legs are dangling off the side of the bed. She stands up and her legs give out on her a little.

"I've got ya," Harry says while giving her support.

"Help me to my room will ya?" Doniya asks Harry. Harry responds with a smile and then slowly helps my sister walk towards the stairs. Once I can no longer see Doniya, I feel Waliyah grab my hand.

"Why do you guys always have to fight?" she asks before laughing. "You guys always used to fight when I was younger."

"Because she irritates me," I say to Waliyah and then sigh. "But I love her anyway." Waliyah smiles at me and I cannot help but smile back.

"I missed you Zayn," she says.

         "I missed you too."

"Awwww," Louis says with a smirk across his face.

         "Shut up," I laugh.

"Zayn?" Safaa says while looking at me in the eyes.

         "Yes?"

"You know that you are the best brother ever right?"

Her remark makes me laugh. "You don't mean that."

"Yes I do. You saved us today. That's what brothers do. They protect their sisters."

Her compliment makes me smile, and I feel like I have achieved something after hearing those words come out of her mouth.

"Yup, that's what I'm here for."

"Well it's been a long day," Waliyah says before giving me a small smile. "Where can we sleep at?"

"You can have my room," I offer.

"No, that's alright Zayn," Niall says. "You can both have my room, and I'll sleep on the couch."

"It's fine Niall. Besides, I'm not very tired at all anyway."

"I'm not tired either Zayn," Niall says. "Just let them have my room okay?"

"You sure?" I ask before placing my hand on his shoulder.

"I'm positive," he says before giving me a small smile.

         "Well good night then."

         "Goodnight bro."

"Do you want me to go with you both?" I ask my sisters.

"No it's fine Zayn. Goodnight," Waliyah says.

"Goodnight you two," I say before hugging them again. It feels kinda strange to hug them again, because I haven't hugged them in so long. But, I've missed the feeling. I'm just grateful that I get the chance to hug them again because I could have lost both of them today...

Niall walks up the stairs with my sisters leaving me, Louis and Liam in the basement.

"I guess we should be going to bed too," Liam says before looking at Louis.

Louis lets out a big yawn and then rubs his face. "Yep, your right. See ya Zayn."

"Bye," I say before giving them a small wave.

Louis and Liam start to walk up the stairs and I follow them. It's only 11...and I'm not very tired. So I guess I could just chill for a bit. I walk into the kitchen and go over to the refrigerator. This is the perfect time for a beer. I pop the lid and take a big sip.

         Today has just been weird.

         I cannot explain it.

I don't even know how I feel right now. I just feel blank...if that's even an emotion.

         But yeah, that fits.

         I feel blank.

         Empty.
