She didn't stop playing, didn't even skip a beat as I entered the dimly lit auditorium. I sat at one of the back rows so as not to disturb her, completely forgetting about the class I was supposed to teach and was already late for--Guitar Ensemble.
The piece she was playing beautifully was by an Italian composer--Ludovico Einaudi--and was called In Un'altra Vita. In Another Life.
Her fingers danced across the ivory keys as she moved from one note to the other with ease. And when she finished, she moved onto the next song. Playing by memory like she had a book of complex sheet music in front of her.
I was just as immersed as she was and time flew by in what felt like seconds.
When she finally finished, I looked at the time on my watch and a gasp escaped my lips in surprise. I had been sitting there for nearly an hour.

just pretend the song is from a really long time ago. its a lovely piano song called "in un altra vita" (in another life) by ludovico einaudi. its from 2001, but for the purpose of this story, just pretend it was composed in the early 1900s.
its in a fanmade video for moon lovers where i first heard the song and fell in love with it. i then chose it as my piece for my senior recital in my piano class at university.
such a beautiful song.
thank you for reading. have a beautiful night everyone!
