I mentally slapped myself as Koda took an interest in the computer. She was staring at the reflection of herself and seemed almost mesmerised. Like she'd never seen herself before. But then again, explaining to Koda how a computer worked would take me forever. I'll just need to distract her. Somehow... "What does it do?" She asked tilting her head in wonder.
"It's very difficult, even I don't know how to use it." I lied. "Anyways, I'm getting something to eat. You hungry?"
"OK." Koda replied following me through to the kitchen. Wow. Distracting her was easier than I thought.
"So, do you want some cereal?" I asked opening the cupboard door. I turned round looking to see Koda's answer, I was shocked to see she was stood right behind me and jumped back a little. Earning myself a smile from the killer. She nodded anyways and I proceeded to grab some cereal that I thought Koda may like. Shreddies. I hope she likes them. I'm paranoid now that if she doesn't like them she'll kill me for it. Am I overthinking things? Hope not... "Hope you like Shreddies." I said laughing nervously.
"I've never had those before!" Koda replied in a slightly over excited manner. I shot her an odd glance whilst she was turned away wondering where exactly she had been all her life. Where the heck were her parents? Surely she couldn't have been living alone all her life in that house. Pushing all thoughts of Koda aside, I focused on making the cereal.
"Here." I said giving Koda the food. She eagerly took it from me as if she hadn't eaten in months. Which wouldn't suprise me. She had a scrawny figure. She was no way anorexic, she had flesh on her and looked healthy. But thinking back when I first met her, she was covered in dirt and blood, it was on her face, her clothes, that huge ass knife. Everywhere. But now she'd had a wash, she looked a lot better. "Do you like it?"
"It's nice! Where do you get this stuff from?"
What? I'm honestly struggling to believe this girl. Either she'd suffered a nasty drop on the head as a baby, or Koda's a special kind of stupid. Not that I'd actually say that to her face or anything. No way. "We buy it. From a shop. Y'know like walmart or something." I replied whilst chewing my cereal. Koda tilted her head in that same confused manner again. Let me guess, she doesn't know what walmart is does she?
"What's walmart?"
How am I not a mind reader! It's seriously not normal how much this girl doesn't know. I sighed as I realised today, I was going to have a lot of explaining to do for Koda.
-1 Hour Later-
Well, I'd finally managed to finish explaining to Koda what exactly a shop does, and a bunch of other stuff. It was now 8:30am. Looks like we had an entire day together. Yay!
Note the sarcasm.
"So what are we going to do today?!" Koda asked in that same excited manner of a young child.
"I just want to sleep..." I mumbled into my hands. Man I'd been up for so long. I'm suprised I hadn't fallen asleep in the shower.
"Sleep?" Koda said. Damn, she wasn't supposed to hear me! "You're tired?" Koda questioned tilting her head and this time giving me a look of concern instead of confusion or astonishment. Not wanting to hurt her feelings by accidently making her believe she had been keeping me up all night, I tried my hardest to put it in a way she would understand.
"Yeah, I've been up all night and I only got like 2 hours of sleep. It's not your fault or anything but Koda, I really need to sleep."
For a moment it was silent. And I was preparing myself to run incase Koda tried to attack me or something. She gazed off at the counter she was sat on and looked like she was trying to break down what I had just said, and put it in a simpler context she would understand.
