That Friday Afternoon

"Harry, I think you've been reading a bit too much in your free time," Niall stated as he continued to eat their lunch.

Our two friends were dining at a new Italian restaurant walking distance from the Library. The establishment contained a top and bottom floor for customers to enjoy their meals one either level. All food that was listed on the menu was made and prepared from scratch.

The best and impressive part about the restaurant was that it was inexpensive. The lowest amount you would have to pay would be around $5-$6 in all and the highest was $13 or so.

Harry was eating a Panini with chicken, lettuce, and some kind of cheese that he was familiar with. Niall was enjoying a twelve-inch homemade pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and extra mozzarella. The food was very delicious and authentic as the two friends devoured their food.

"I'm not kidding Niall. They wouldn't stop talking about some Chalice that sounded very valuable and important to them for some reason. If I had thought it was something I read in a book that was nothing but nonsense, then why am I telling you about it?" Harry sassed.

"You rant about every book you've ever read ever since we started hanging out!" Niall said.

"Well true, but I'm being serious this time! This was both of our bosses actually holding a conversation about a Chalice!" Harry stated.

The two friends were rather very lucky that the restaurant did not have a lot of customers that day. Most of them were on the top level while they were on the bottom. Plus, it wasn't as busy as it would be on a Friday or weekend night.

"Ok Harry, I'll take your theory into consideration. Say there was a Chalice out there that Lassiter and O'Hara are trying to get their hands on. Who said they would use it for the greater good?" Niall said.

The question made Harry ponder for quite a while. The Irish bloke did have a point: he had just begun to work at the Library for about a week (not counting this one). Even though Niall has been working at the Library longer than he has, even the blonde man did not contain some special bond between either boss.

Who said it was going to stop him from finding the truth?

The two friends returned to the Library after their lunch break and continued on with reading and entertaining the children.

Harry was having a blast using different voices and acting out various scenes from his made up story. But, the chalice conversation was still roaming in the back of his head. He knew that it was a safe bet to forget that he had heard the conversation or even discussed it with his friend.

However, it was like a nasty mosquito bite, constantly itching and irritating the poor lad. Waiting for the man to either scratch the bump or to apply a relieving cream, which may even cause it to disappear.

Eventually, it came down to the closing of the library.

As each child lined up and gave both men a hug, a thought came to the curly cross-dresser's mind.

Assuming that the chalice actually exists, Harry thought about how it may affect the children. How the damned object may affect the library and the people in it. He even went as far as to think how it would affect his family back in Holmes Chapel.

After each child had returned to his or her parent, it was at that moment when Harry had finally come to a conclusion.

He was going to confront Lassiter and Juliet about the Chalice.
