Lorraine captured Judy's attention right before she passed out. Of course Ed and Judy immediately rushed out of the water. In this moment all that mattered to Ed was his wife. He kneeled next to her and tried to wake her up in vain.
"Lorraine!", he shouted, laying her head on his lap.
"Mommy..", Judy sobbed in fear and looked at her mother.
Although both of them were quite mad at the brunette, neither of them wanted that anything happened to her. Lorraine had her visions often and then she always seemed like she just left her body, but now she's just passed out. Out of nowhere.
"Lorraine..", Ed whispered and lightly ran his fingertips through her hair.
It's been more than half an hour since the incident. He still had her head on his lap and hoped she'd wake up soon. Judy called an ambulance after she'd figured her mother probably wouldn't gain consciousness that soon. Now she just sat next to her father and held Lorraine's hand, still sobbing quietly.
It didn't take long for the ambulance to arrive as soon as they heard the sirens. The car pulled into the parking lot and paramedics were rushing out of it. They told Ed and Judy that everything will be fine and that they will take care of Lorraine. Two of them laid her down on the stretcher and another one checked her vital signs and other stuff Ed and Judy didn't know about. The body laying on the stretcher almost looked lifeless, like Lorraine's soul was somewhere else. They closed the door of the ambulance, leaving the other two at the beach, before rushing to the hospital with the still unconscious clairvoyant.
"Come on, Judy.. we need to follow them.", Ed told her and grabbed all the stuff which was laying around and packed.
Judy sneaked into the passengers seat and wiped her tears away. Not entirely sure what to think about all this. She was so scared. Ed started the car and started driving to the hospital they brought his wife to. None of them said anything but both knew the other one worried just as much.
When Lorraine opened her eyes again she was somewhere bright. The walls were paint in white. It smelled so clean and the bed was so uncomfortable. The last time she laid in a bed like this was when she gave birth to Judy. She closed her eyes once again and took a deep breath. She was in a hospital. Actually she had no clue what has happened and why she was brought there. Where were Ed and Judy? Hopefully they didn't worry about her. Hopefully they were fine. That made her open her eyes once again. She looked to her right, just an empty chair and she felt the disappointment rising in her. Didn't they come to check on her because they were still mad? Or because she was in a coma for around 10 years and they already believed her dead? Maybe she was dead? All these thoughts were gone when she looked to her left and then heard a door squeaking.
"Mommy!", Judy shrieked and ran to her bed, immediately grabbing her mother's hand,"I've been so worried about you!"
Lorraine managed to smile a little. Judy's eyes were red and puffy from crying and she didn't look older than the last time. So she assumed she might just have passed out. When she looked once again at her daughter she saw the tear stained cheeks.
"I'm so sorry, love..", Lorraine whispered, not feeling strong enough to raise her voice.
"No.. no. It's all good now, mommy.", Judy smiled and caressed her mother's hand with her thumb,"daddy should be here any second, too."
Ed felt more than relieved when he saw that his wife gained her consciousness again. He had just talked to the doctors and they had no rational explanation for her fainting fit. Considering his wife was a gifted clairvoyant he assumed it had to do with the paranormal. Not that Ed did try to explain, he knew the doctors wouldn't listen anyway. They ran some tests on her and she had to stay overnight to be sure it was nothing serious.
"Lorraine, honey, you're back.", he smiled as well and sat down on the chair next to her bed to hold her other hand.
She just nodded and looked at her husband. He hasn't been crying but she knew he's been just as worried as Judy. It was a comforting silence in the room although this was just another incident they wouldn't talk about. But all that mattered was, that Lorraine was alright.
Quite a few months have passed since the day at the beach and Ed and Lorraine started taking cases again. The first one they had was the Annabelle case. It was nothing too complicated but somehow everyone seemed interested in that doll after. And actually just a few weeks later they were called to Harrisville, Rhode Island, to investigate in the case of the Perron family. This in fact was a more complicated case, but they managed to save them. After all they were the most popular paranormal investigators in the world for a reason.
The relationship between Ed and Lorraine was like before Maurice's exorcism, because he forgave her for her behavior. They still didn't talk about anything she's been through that year, but he was fine with it. Judy's relationship with her mother still was complicated. They didn't fight anymore and they talked to each other, but it hasn't been the same. Lorraine tried her best but her daughter didn't understand. She didn't understand what possibly could be so cruel that one can't talk to anyone about it. She didn't understand the things her mother could see and feel because no one ever explained it to her. That was why she's still been mad. Her mother thought she was a small child after all and couldn't explain to her why she did what she did.
okay I'm so sorry this one is a little short and really bad; it's just a filler chapter. It has 1.006 words though haha. Anyway this is just what happened after the incident at the beach and I also mentioned the Annabelle and Perron's case. I don't want to write about them in detail because I think it would be boring to read what's been in the movie. After all this isn't important to the story anyway. I didn't want to do the Perron's case until chapter 10 or something first but I figured that I ran out of ideas that could happen before this incident. So it's happened and i have plenty ideas for future chapters yay.
And thanks to fanofmanythings11 for helping me with this one. I couldn't think of anything to write but it seems like this was the right thing although I think it's too boring
