Chapter 1: Katherine's POV:
My name is Katherine Wood. I have a little sister named Payton and my Momma's name is Katrina. We have a dog named Snickers, and a cat named Jewels. Tomorrow is choosing day and I am not very confident.
Payton's POV:
My name is Payton and I am Katherine's little sister. I just turned twelve in June, and it is now July which means I am eligible to be chosen in the choosing ceremony tommorow. Which is very scary to me but I can't show it because then Katie and Momma will be nervous and try to baby me like always.

Chapter 2: Katrina's POV:
It's the morning of the choosing ceremony and I am nervous because today both my daughters could be chosen to go into a fight that could take their life.
Katherine's POV: As I'm getting ready for the choosing ceremony I just hope that Payton does not get picked to go to the fight for the feast.
