Chase hasn't texted me since he left my room yesterday afternoon and to say I'm pissed is putting it mildly. Who in the hell does he think he is telling me that he'll decide when we're done. Uuuuggghhhh. Boys!!! Seriously!!!
The Fuck?
I stop abruptly and Erin walks right into my back causing me to stumble a bit.
"Tell me that I'm going crazy and that is not the new Barbie practically sitting on Chase's lap." I angry whisper to Erin.
"I would if that wasn't Elizabeth sitting right opposite him. And Charisse, you have crazy eyes, let's please be rational about this."
"Oh I'm rational alright."
I walk over to the table my brother and all his friends are having lunch at and plonk myself down next to Caleb without invite this time and push against him to make space for Erin, the sweetest smile plastered onto my face.
"Hello, I'm Charisse," I extend my hand across the table to the newest addition to the B's, I don't even have a number for her.
"Hi, I'm Madison, it's like so great to meet you. Jewel was just telling me about what a great dancer you are, maybe I could give you some pointers. I dance too and like stretching is the absolute hardest."
The absolute hardest. Is that even a word. This is what Chase chose over me.
"Well when it comes to stretching you're in good hands." I say politely while smiling ignoring the stone cold stare coming from Chase as well as Erin's elbow digging into my side.
"Well what do you mean hun?"
"Chase is absolutely great. He did me the favour of swiping my V Card to help me stretch better." The joint intake of breath at the table only makes me aware that I've hit the nail on the head in the theatrical department, but that's not what I want, I'm aiming for the jugular. If hurting him means hurting me, then I'm down.
"That actually works?" Madison asks, a bit of awe in her voice.
"Absoultely. It's just a pity that he never liked me that way, only the excitement of keeping me a secret. Now if you'll excuse me, I have some stretching to do."
With that I get up from the table and walk out not sparing a backward glance.
"Way to go rogue you crazy bitch, not even I'm that mental."
"I can't right now E, I'm going home. Cover for me please."
Erin pulls me into her arms and holds me tightly, "I'm sorry babe."
"Don't E, please, you never did anything wrong." I squeeze her and turn to leave. "On second thought can I crash at your house for a bit?"
"Sure babe," Erin digs into her bag then hands me her keys and I leave the school and Chase behind me.
I reach Erin's house without breaking down and check my phone. The first text is from her.
*Chase asked where you are, I said home, he left school.*
The second is from Caleb.
*Hey sis, I love you, let me know that you're safe.*
I can't be angry at my brother because his friend is an asshole. I return his text saying I'm fine and just need a timeout.
As much as I want to ignore the four texts from Chase I find myself opening them.
*What the hell was that.*
*Where are you????*
*I'm at your house*
*Where are you? We need to talk.*
I shut my phone off once again, climb into Erin's bed and give myself just this one day to cry.
