Ben had been here until the end of the night, even Danny had left. It was honestly a little creepy, just to see him sipping on a beer and watch me.
Come to think of it, everything about what we'd done together was creepy. In the way that it'd all happened. Stefan went and told Ben we were closing, so he left, finally.
After wiping down the tables and cleaning any glasses, I left work, to find Ben waiting outside for me.
"What is your problem? I thought I made it clear I want nothing more to do with you," I began walking away from him.
"You're a liar, Evie. Look me in the eyes and tell me I meant nothing to you," he stopped dead in the street.
So I walked up to him, looked him in the eyes, and proved him wrong. "You mean nothing to me-"
Bang.
Blood spurred out of Bens mouth and he fell forwards, into my arms. I cried out in shock, and screamed. I began to pull out my phone, to call 999.
Once the number had been called, I told them someone had been shot and so they sent an ambulance.
I looked down to Ben, he was clearly dead. He'd been shot at the nape of his neck. I cried uncontrollably over his freshly dead body, knowing there were no last words he could spare.
And my last words to him would be, 'You mean nothing to me'. I looked up, to see the one familiar face I least expected holding the gun.
Danny.
