"C'mon Ash! Can I call you Ash? It sounds cool" Bethany rambles on as we walk through the house full of people. I look at all the people as Bethany drags me along. I'm forced onto a couch where Bethany sits next to me. She smiles wide at me and then looks at the people sitting in front of us. "Guys, this is Ashley. She just moved here." Bethany informs them. They all smile and wave a me. I shyly wave back.
"So, where you from?" One of the girls asks me. She flashes a bright white smile.
"New York." I tell her.
"Oh, nice." She nods. "Why'd you move here?"
"My mom wanted to be closer to my uncle I guess." I shrug. I'm not even totally sure if that's the reason why we moved here. She nods.
"You just moved here?" Another asks.
I nod. "Yeah. I literally just got here a couple hours ago." I reply, giggling a little. They laugh as well. A few guys walk by and look at me. One winks at me. I turn away in disgust.
"Sorry. The guys around here don't know how to control themselves. Especially with new people. It's not often that we get new people here, so, when we do, everyone goes kinda crazy." The same girl tells me. I just nod and give a small smile.
They all ask me questions about my life. I answer them honestly and begin to open up more. "So I have a question for you guys." I say. They nod, listening. "Will you guys hang out with me on Monday when I go to school?" I ask, more like beg. They laugh and nod.
"Of course!" One says. I learned that her name is Olivia. I smile wide.
"I've only known you guys for a little while, but I already think you're amazing." I laugh.
"We like you too!" Another, Jessica says. I grin. I pull out the phone and check the time. 12:45. Shit
"Guys, I'm sorry but I really have to go." I say. The frown and I get a few 'awe''s. I chuckle.
Bethany stands up with me. "Maybe we can hangout tomorrow or something." She suggests.
I smile. "Yeah. That sounds great." I say.
We say our goodbye's, exchange numbers, and finally, I'm ready to leave.
I turn to walk away but my body collides into someone else's. An arm flies around my waste to catch me from falling. My hands fly to their chest. I gasp. "I'm sorry." I breathe.
"It's ok. It was my fault. I'm sorry." The male says, still holding me. We look at each other for a moment longer then pull away. I bite my lip. He touches my shoulder and walks past me. Ok.
Bethany comes to my side. "What was that?" She asks, smirking slightly.
"I don't know." I shrug.
"Anyways, don't you need a ride?" She questions.
I nod. "If it's not too much trouble." I reply. She smiles and pulls her keys out.
We make our way out to her car. I hop into the passenger seat and she starts to drive.
"Who was that I bumped into?" I ask.
"Josh." She replies. "He's a lacrosse player. He's amazing. Super smart, athletic and so nice." She goes on. I just nod and stare out the window.
I tell her where the house is and she drops me off. I go inside. Luckily, no one is up. I go into my room and get ready for bed. I lay down and replay tonights events in my head. It went better than I had expected. I made friends and went to a party. All on my first night! I'm actually excited for Monday.
