I wake up to the sound of my phone buzzing uncontrollably. Slowly sitting up, I grab my phone and look at the bright screen. 3 texts from Bethany and the other girls. 4 from my mom and 1 from my uncle.
I check the ones from Bethany and the girls first. They asked if I wanted to go shopping with them. Before I reply, I check to see what my mother said. She was just wondering how I was doing and checking up on me. A motherly thing. And I guess Nathan got ahold of uncle Jay's phone because it was all nonsense.
I reply to Bethany's text and start getting ready. I hop in the shower, brush my teeth and hair and put on a nice but casual outfit.
There's a knock on the door and I hear uncle Jay answer it.
"ASH! IT'S FOR YOU!" He calls.
"Coming!" I yelling back. I quickly grab my phone and fix myself before going to meet my friends.
"Hey! You ready?" Bethany asks.
"Yeah! Lets go!" I nod and head out. I quickly say bye to uncle Jay and leave.
"So where do you want to go first?" Bethany asks as she pulls out of the driveway.
"Um... I don't really know any places..." I say quietly.
"That's right! I'll take you to the mall!" She says.
"Ok" I say simply, sitting back and pulling out my phone.
We soon arrive at the mall and spend hours just shopping around. I end up buying a few outfits for school. Bethany convinced me to get most of them. She seems to get my style.
After hours of shopping we finally leave.
"Wanna go to the park or something?" She asks.
"Um, yeah sure." I shrug. She nods and pulls into a cute, decent sized park. We step out and walk over to a fountain and sit on the edge.
"This is my favorite place." She says. "I come here to think and relax."
I sit there quietly, not knowing what to say. She starts to talk again but I lose focus. My eyes are drawn to some boys playing football. They all laugh as they play, tackling each other and making touchdowns.
Suddenly, the football starts flying towards us. I perk up and catch it before it hits either of us. A boy comes running over.
"I'm so sorry!" He says, jogging over.
"It's ok." I say, giving him his ball back.
"That catch was amazing, by the way." He states, smiling shyly.
"Thanks." I blush.
I look at him. He looks familiar. He's the boy from last night.
I must be staring too long because he blushes and speaks up. "Well, sorry, again. I'll catch ya later" he says and runs back to his friends.
I look over at Bethany, who smirks at me.
"What?" I ask.
"You so like each other." She says, starting to squeal.
"Oh, shut up." I laugh, blushing and shoving her slightly. "I do not."
"Mhm." She laughs and I roll my eyes.
