I pulled up to Charlie's he had called and invited me over to watch a movie with him and eat while Bella was with my family for the baseball game. My smile fell when I reached his front door and It was semi open . I stepped in dropping my purse at the entrance so my hands were free if I had to fight anyone. All of Philips self defense he taught after his emotions were turned on started to resurface.
"Charlie!" I called .
When I reached the dining room I saw John one of Philip's old friends standing there. With Charlie tied and gagged to a dining room chair . I froze in fear of what john had planned for me and the man I loved.
"Well look who finally showed up I was afraid it would be to dark out for what I wanted to do to you, But your here just in time the sun is still here to play . " He said stepping closer .
I stepped back . "John what are you doing you promised Philip you'd leave me alone ."
"He promised me you when he was done with you but no you had to go and turn his emotions back on so he would feel ." He sneered the last word like it was foul he was normal and didn't have his emotions turned off he was just a cruel man in general . "So I don't think I will be keeping my promise seeing as he can't keep his. "
Charlie mumbled something through the gag that if we were human we wouldn't understand but we weren't so I heard him clearly . "Who is he Cora?" He had asked .
I went to speak but John spoke . "Oh yes that's another fun thing added into this Your human doesn't know that your freak ." I flinched at his wording a tear came to my eye knowing what he was going to do he was gonna out me than kill me .
"I am so sorry Charlie , I love you so much don't hate me." spoke to him looking him the eyes . His eyes held confusion and sadness for the situation.
"You see Charliee ." John said in a drawl before he sped up to me and ripped my ring off before I could run . "Your sweet Cora here is a monster of the most terrible kind . " He grabbed me by the hair dragging me to the window . I tried to get free as he brought me closer to the light I whimpered when his age compared to mine made him stronger than me . I heard Charlie yelling at John to let me go. That only made John laugh at him as he continued to pull my struggling body into the light .
I let out a high pitched scream as my entire left arm was forcefully thrust into the light . It felt like I had been lit on fire. John laughed at my pain as he let me go I vamp sped into the shadow of the room clutching my arm crying . My eyes were shut so I didn't have to see what was probably Charlie's horrified face He probably hated me .
I started to sob now at the thought of my mate hating me for what I am. John bent and grabbed me by my arms lifting me from the ground . I whimpered in pain as his nails dug into my not yet healed wounds making me realize I hadn't fed . Making my veins began to pop out and show as well as my fangs . I went limp in his grip turning my head away from Charlie not wanting him to see me like this .
I heard john chuckle but it was suddenly cut off when a force knocked John away from me . I heard snarling . I looked up after I had landed to see Philip here standing in front of Charlie and I blocking Johns path to us.
"I will kill you Philip if you stand in the way of what I want ." John snarled .
"I am older and stronger I highly doubt that will happen fool. You've lied to me and tried to kill my creation after I had given her freedom . She doesn't live the way we do she is to pure for your insanity John leave or I will I have to get rid of you. " Philip warned .
John Screamed in anger like child before he sped forward and attacked Philip. they vamp sped around the house snarling and grappling for dominance . As they fought I could feel Charlie's stare on me but I was to afraid to look to see fear, Anger , Or even hatred in his eyes .
Soon the fight was back in the dining room with John now pinned to the floor by Philip as he held a stake above him . "I am sorry old friend but I can't allow you to keep harming Cora ." He apologized tears in his eyes as he drove the stake into his heart .
Both Philip and John were two of the oldest Vampire to exist after the Originals themselves they had been like brothers both created by Rebekah for she had been in love with Philip but in anger Klaus had forced Them to leave . ever since Rebekah had been seeing Him in secret but before he turned me she forced him to leave her for his safety thus making him turn off his humanity .
After a moment of the dagger sitting in John he became more pale than greyish as his veins s blackened . than he lay dead on Charlie's dining room floor .

After Philip left with John's body and untying Charlie I sat on the front step the sun still out a little . I heard the door open and smelt Charlie as he stepped out behind me .
"It's alright if you hate me I wouldn't blame you." I said sadly looking at my knees as Charlie walked down the steps to stand in front of me .
"Well I think I sorta understand what happened in there but I think I might be confused a bit ." I looked not in understanding .
"What?"
"From what I gather your a . . well huh can't believe I'm gonna say this your a vampire . " he looked shocked confused but something that confused me was he held no fear in his eyes he wanted me to tell him and explain things to him .
"Yes ."
"how old are you?
"18." .
" Okay when were you born ?" He said annoyed by my answer.
"I was born in 1795 ."
He was silent in shock before he mumbled . " And I worried about being to old for you ."
I tried and failed at holding back an amused smile . "Yeah I'm old enough to be your grand mother and maybe older , Being if you count both my human life and my rebirth I am 214 years old ."
He looked shocked before he recover to speak . " So you weren't born this way ?"
I shook my head . "Nope , I didn't lie about that my father was human and he was a pastor I had four brothers one younger three elder ."I sighed . "When I said my mother was old fashion it was because in the era it was very common for arranged marriage and dowry and not marrying out of your class than there was the fact women weren't allowed to do anything I couldn't property . Only my eldest brother would inherit my fathers land and if he didn't want it on of my many other brothers would or it could go to a male cousin but I wouldn't . If didn't marry one of my brothers would become responsible for me or other family or I could be put to work somewhere mostly as a maid or child rearing . " I stopped rambling about my old life and the choices I as a woman in my time had . "does this change things Charlie ?" I whispered not really wanting to know the answer if it was bad .
He grabbed my chin and made me look at him . " I love you Cora ."
Tears fell from my eyes as I stood and threw my arms around Charlie and kissed him he lifted me and carried me into his home as our tongues danced . I tasted the salt of my tears but that wouldn't stop me from kissing this wonderful man in front of me .
He closed the doo and we disconnected " I love you more than anything , you've made me so happy Charlie . " He smiled and bent to kiss me again letting his love shine through the kiss.
