I've never moved so much in my life. My mother never settles down, it's just one city onto the next. It's a vicious cycle I tell you.
"Quinn, you are going to be late, let's go!" my mother yells from the bottom of the stairs. I lay in bed for one more moment before reluctantly hoisting myself out of the covers. Why can't I just stay there forever. I look around at all the boxes in my room overflowing with junk. I see some clothes in a box in the corner, I pull a grey hoodie over my messily braided, toffee coloured hair. I made a mental note to go get my hair done soon. I threw on some jeans and undid my braids, tying the brown mess into a bun. With a swipe of mascara to bring out my grey blue eyes and a look in the mirror I was out my door and down the stairs.
"Honey, it's your first day. You could at least put a little effort into your appearance. You know what I always say-"I cut her off before she can finish that dreadful sentence. Rolling my eyes, I finish her sentence knowing exactly what she's about to say
"First impressions last forever, yes mom I know." I grab an apple, my purse and my keys. Giving my mom a kiss on the cheek, I stroll towards the door.
I walk up to my car and stick the key in the door, sometimes you have to jiggle it a little for it to open. Man, I need a new car. After about five whole minutes of jiggling I hear a chuckle coming from across the lawn. I look up to see what appears to be something from the male species. At a glance, I could catch his mahogany brown styled hair, beautiful green eyes and this amazing smile to go along with it.
"What's so funny hmm?" I send what I hoped to be a chilling glare his way, hoping he would be intimidated. He just smirked.
"I've been watching you jiggle those keys for like twenty minutes" he laughs again and leans on his car. Why is he so interested in my key jiggling anyway?! Leave me and my jiggling keys alone!
"okay, so? My car is a little bit difficult, and it's only been like five minutes. Stop being such a creepy weirdo." I finally manage to get the damn thing open, I send a smirk towards him and stick my tongue out. Yes, I actually am twelve years old. Sticking my tongue out? Really Quinn?! I roll my eyes and start my car. Pulling out of my driveway he sends me a smile. I make a gagging face and drive away. What a wonderful way to start my Monday morning.
The drive to the school wasn't too bad, however I did get lost on willow street. I won't make that right turn again. I park my car in one of the stalls and open my door. Looking up at the brick building, I take it all in. the students laying on the grass, the teachers holding the door for one another with coffee in their hands, girls and jocks basically eating each other faces. Yup welcome to high school, I love the smell of Coffee and STD's in the morning. I lock my door and head for the front office, time to start hell.
I walk into the office and I'm greeted by an older lady with red curly hair. The little gold plaque on the counter top says "LINDA" I walk up with an awkward smile plastered on my face.
"Hi! I'm uhhh new here?" I said/asked, man why was I so damn socially awkward. She sends me an odd but sweet look.
"Hi dear, what is your name?" she pushed her glasses up her nose with her finger and looked down at her computer screen.
"Quinn, Quinn Archer." I switch my purse onto my left shoulder
"Ah yes, Quinn Grace Archer, I have your schedule and paperwork right here" she turns her swivel chair around and grabs a small stack of papers and what looks like a handbook.
"On these papers, you will find your class schedule, locker number and combination as well as a map for the school, in this handbook is our rules and policies." She hands me the pile and I quickly grab it.
