Batman slammed the desk hard with his fists.

Nothing. He found nothing. It's already been three years and who knows what that blasted Joker did to him.

He pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.

"Dad?" He didn't have to turn around to know it was Damian.

Damian was his eldest and only biological son. He, like all the other kids Batma- Bruce Wayne adopted, were vigilantes. Damian being Nightwing, Timothy Red Robin, and Jason being Red X.

"You're still looking for him, aren't you?" Damian stood next to him now, looking at all the tabs pulled up on the Batcomputer. Ever since Joker kidnapped Richard, there has been no signs of him in Gotham pulling some lousy feist.

Batman pulled down his cowl, becoming Bruce Wayne the billionaire playboy of Gotham.

"Dad? Dami? What's going on?" Timothy stood at the entrance to the Batcave.

"Go to sleep Drake, it's nothing," Damian said, not looking away from the screen.

Timothy was about to turn and leave but paused.

"Hey, if this is about that Richard kid, I can help."

Bruce looked at him. Dark bags were visible under his eyes, showing how he hadn't had much sleep the past few weeks.

"How?" Damian asked. Tim walked over to them.

"While on patrol I stopped a two guys stealing jewelry-"

"How does defeating two guys stealing gems help?" Bruce asked suddenly.

"No wait just listen!"

"We're listening Drake."

"So I was tying them up and then I recognized them as Joker's goons. So I asked them-"

"ASKED them?" Damian smirked. Tim pouted, even though he was 17.

"Okay, maybe I used a little bit of force but you're missing the point. I got them to spill! They said Joker was hanging around a warehouse out on the countryside. The CCTV's in that area shut down from an old storm a few years back and they never had the time to replace it! Joker must've done something to the place jamming the signal there too!" Tim managed in one breath.

As if a switch had been turned on, Bruce was suddenly wide awake. He turned back to the computer and started typing different locations with a set jaw and a determined look in his eyes.

Tim stood behind Bruce's chair and looked at the screen before him.

"THAT ONE!" Tim shouted and pointed at one of the maps opened up on the screen.

"Looks like some kind of factory in an abandoned countryside area near the outskirts of Gotham. Should we check this out or..?" Both boys looked at Bruce.

Bruce put up his cowl.

"No, this can not wait. You two stay here, I'm going to go check it out myself."

"But Bruce, it could be dangerous! You know the Joker he puts -"

"No. Stay here and monitor the area, try to reconnect the cameras there and find out what's blocking the signal. I'll be back as soon as I can."

With that being said, Batman jumped into the batmobile and left, leaving Damian and Tim in the cave filled with bats and a huge computer, dim light flickering in the darkness.

Damian sighed and sat in the chair Bruce was in. Tim stood beside him.

"Well, you know Bruce."

With Batman......

"Dick.." Batman murmured hope in his eyes, as he drove off the streets in Gotham. His thoughts were all over the place thinking only about Dick, the boy he had failed three years ago.

Was he alive?

Is the Joker really there or did the goons lie?

What could have happened to him since the last time he saw him?

"I'm so sorry.." he muttered as the engine roared, the car going faster.

With Richard...

Dick was trying to sleep, Joker being long gone. But he always felt he was close, ready to wring the last of his sanity away..

Roses are red
Violets are blue
I SEE YOU

Months has passed and as he barely lived through each day, he felt like pieces of him, the ones keeping him whole, were being ripped away.

He drifted slowly to unconsciousness when he heard a car.
At first he thought it was just a bypassing one with people who wouldn't care if he was there or not when he heard the car engine stop. Was the Joker back already? Or could it be someone to save him? He couldn't tell the difference between Joker's buggy and a normal car anymore since the day Joker electrocuted him, making all five senses go haywire.

"Hello?"

He heard a deep, muffled voice from outside confirming that this wasn't Joker knowing he had a high pitched cackle after each sentence he made. It could be more of his hallucinations..

"He-" Dick coughed blood from his mouth, his throat dry from the lack of water. "Help.."

"..."

Nothing.

"HELP!?" Dick's voice faltered, thinking that the owner of the voice had gone, leaving him to his misery.

Dick suddenly heard banging from the front metal door, which was locked by a crazy system of codes Joker installed. Who knew he had the brains to do anything like that?

Dick's heart pounded with desperation. He was NOT gonna let this opportunity to escape slip from his grasp.

"HELP SOMEBODY!!" he screamed again at top of his lungs, tears sliding down his cheeks, throat burning.

"Dick! I'm coming, just stay calm."

He heard a beeping noise coming from the other side of the door, and it didn't take a genius to know it was bombs.

There were failsafes all over that thing. If you opened the door like that it would trigger at least a few of them and it would...

"BATMAN WAI-"

The door flew open, landing on the other side of the empty warehouse.

Dick shook his head and looked up at the dark figure standing at the entrance.

"BATMAN LOOK OUT!"

A puff of green toxic smoke swirled around Batman, until he wasn't visible.

Dick's heart fell before the familiar dark figure appeared out of the smoke, wearing a gas mask.

Dick wanted to cry, but his adrenaline faded and he couldn't even hold his head up. He collapsed on his good side and felt nauseous, a wave of vertigo washing over him.

"Dick!" Batman had reached the pole where Dick was chained to. He started to pick the locks and remove them from Dick's wrists and ankles.

"B-bat-..." Dick tried to call him but his body wouldn't react to his command. Before he could do anything else, black started to seep into his vision. All the exhaustion formed through weeks of no sleep and constant nightmares made him pass out, his body understanding that he was safe and could could rest peacefully for the first time in years.

Batman lifted him up gently rubbing his back, walking out the door towards the batmobile.

He set him down on the seat next to him, careful not to aggravate his wounds. He slightly smiled at the sight of his little bird sleeping peacefully. Batman leaned over and ruffled his hair.

"You did good." he whispered and quickly drove back to the batcave before he met an angry Joker, not that he couldn't deal with him of course.
