I was walking home with my friend, Kamui Mizu, when we stopped taking our usual route home, and walked to the shore.
Kamui sat down in the sand, his short, silver hair waving around with the wind.
"Nice view, isn't it?" He asks, making a sand lump, similar to a child believing they're making a sand castle.
I nodded, and sat beside him. "It's breathtaking." I say, folding my legs.
Kamui smiled, and looked at me. "In a few months, we'll be out of here, and exploring lands we've never been to before!"
This was our last two months residing at the Azure Training Academy. Those who attend come out as soldiers in the span of five years, ready to protect our small port town on land and sea. There was a large iron barrier that surrounded the city, protecting us from any unwated guests, such as pirates. Outside the walls were some of the soldiers, some eight hundred of them. That may seem like a considerably large number, but the army of Azure consists of over one thousand and nine hundred soldiers patrolling the Percerian sea, protecting us and the continent we live on.

Kamui shook me a bit, and pointed to a ship stationed by the docks.
"What?" I asked. "It's a cargo ship. It's used for transporting weapons and newcomers from continents all across the globe."
He shook his head.
"I knew that. I'm talking about the girl next to the ship!"
I looked closer.
Next to the ladder of the ship, there was a girl who stands at 1.6 meters, has ankle long light red, wavy hair, and wears a belly dancer outfit, which was a mix between a light red and a dark pink. She has a very nervous expression on her face, like someone is going to come up from under her and drag her deep into the ocean.

Kamui nudged me, and smiled.
"Want to go over there and talk to her?" He asked, grinning widely.
I know that face.
That was the face he made whenever he wanted to hook me up with some girl he thought suited me.
"Kamui, no." I stated frankly.
"Oh, come on, Morgan!" He said, pulling me over to the docks. "Who knows? Maybe she'll take a liking to you!"
I tried grabbing onto something, but I realized that I was being dragged atop of sand.
"Damn you, Kamui!" I shouted, trying to grab a nearby rock.
"At this rate, you'll be married to your Naginata! Why won't you stop being afraid of talking to females?"
I punched his leg, and he fell. I got up, brushing the plethora of sand off of me.
"I am not!" I shouted.
"I just believe that my studies and my training are more important than a relationship! I've no time for love when I'm to be protecting the country in a few short months!"
Kamui chuckled. "You are so blind, Morgan. You still have time to love, so why not take advantage of it?"
"Because we both will be out patrolling the sea, taking on great dangers. Sometimes dangers bigger than we can handle. How would my significant other feel if I fell in battle fighting that danger? Heartbroken, correct?"
He nodded. "Yes, but would you really want to die in combat, knowing that you'd have lived your life loveless and without a mate to watch over? To protect as they traverse through life with you? You mean to tell me you wouldn't want to help the person you loved take over their hardships with you in their life? That's sad, Morgan."
Damn you, Kamui. You always did have a way of getting through to me. You have ever since we were kids.
Maybe love is a necessity, and not a choice.
Not for everyone, at least.
He rested a hand on my shoulder, amd smiled slightly.
"All I'm asking is that you give it a chance, alright?" He asked.
I nodded. "Alright. But do not do anything to intervene or distract me, unless it involves urgent business. Got it?"
He nodded. "In the words of a future protector to the country, you have my word."
I helped Kamui up, and started walking towards the docks, and the Gypsy.
I did not have a pleasant feeling about this whatsoever.
