A pack of six crouched in a ring around a small clearing, each preparing their attack. Avery's stature was firm as she lay easily on the grass, not risking any sudden movement she called out to one of her pack members through their mind link.

'Chris, don't you even think about it, the buck is MINE.' Her growl vibrated through each one of her member's ties, causing all the wolves to glance at her.

The black wolf nearest her shot Avery a wolfy-grin,

‘I wouldn't dare, Alpha.’ Chris shot back, turning his eyes to a stag, but darting a look back at the buck with a mournfully hungry look.

'On three we attack- THREE!'

Wolves shot from all directions, each wolf wanting to get the largest deer, but avoiding the buck Avery had marked as hers.

Jess, the only female apart from Avery easily took down a yearling from the side, while Lukan played with his, jumping from side to side, blocking it's path while he nipped at it.

Hartley and Harper, decided to take down the biggest stag and share it; Chris had successfully taken down a doe and the stag he had been eyeing, and was now taking turns in chomping on each.

'Fatty.' Avery shot at Chris playfully, in response Chris chewed extra loudly. With a quiet laugh, Avery finally rose, prowling in a leisurely, cat-like way towards her buck, which stared at her eyes wide with absolute fear. It seemed as if its muscles had locked in place, preventing it from moving as Avery eyed its throat- going for the kill.

Within seconds Avery launched herself at the buck and clamped her powerful jowl around it's through, piercing its jugular. The buck fell limp as its last breath escaped.

After each had finished their meal they dropped side by side and allowed their meal to digest.

It was late, as far as Avery could tell. She had long lost the time and date of things- in fact she hadn't been in her human form for a long time.

'Aves?' Chris mumbled. Avery turned her head towards him, she was wide awake: tonight she was going to be the look-out.

'Yes, Topher?' she replied.

'Why are we going back, after two years...? Why now?'

Avery hesitated, 'I- I don’t know- I feel like something is calling me there, I can't ignore it though.'

'So you're homesick.' Chris finalized, nodding his big head.

'Aren't you?' Avery questioned quietly, sounding off from her usual self.

Chris didn't speak for a long time, Avery thought he had fallen asleep until he shifted over slightly, resting his head on Avery's side.

'Yeah, I guess I am too.' he muttered finally.

Avery didn't reply; she continued to watch over her pack while listening to their slowed breathing.

It was only until Harper said it was his turn to look out did Avery burry her face in Chris' fur and fall asleep.

Being Alpha wasn't too hard...

'So, whose turn is it to get clothes?' Avery asked as her five pack members thudded beside her.

'Jess.' Each chorused; the smallest brown wolf glared at the others, but reluctantly stepped up to bat as the rest fell back.

'Don't get me a girl shirt this time.' Lukan grunted, growling as the twins snickered through the connection.  Jess shot a glare at him, 'You'll wear what I get you.'

And with that she shot out from the cover of the trees, shooting along the yards with clotheslines, grabbing as many clothes as she could as fast as she could.

Jess was easily the same size of a large dog, she was also the quickest amongst us- nobody in Avery's pack undermined Jess due to her size; once in human form Jess had broken Lukan's arm, when the pack had ate and ran from a small town Subway- and Lukan had tried to steal a slice of baloney from her sub.

Jess had just reached the cover of the woods as Lukan, Chris, Hartley and Harper had shifted to their human form, none of them embarrassed to be stark naked in front of two girls.

Avery and Jess exchanged looks, both grabbing a set of clothing before darting back into the cover of the trees, from where both girls changed whilst watching each other's backs.

Avery concentrated, trying to remember how exactly to shift back; Avery's long limbs began to straighten, her spine shifting back in place forced her to stand on her hind legs. Avery wondered what took her so long to shift back, but with a glance over her shoulder she saw Jess's fur only just shooting back into her flesh.

Avery took a breath, the shift only lasting a few more seconds before her wolf form had melted away.

"I think I've grown." Avery commented as she stretched out her now longer legs. "Look at your hair!" Jess pointed out, now tugging her legs into a pair of jeans that looked almost too small for her. With a frown Jess ripped her jeans up to her knees where it was more flexible; Avery reached up and ran a hand through her blonde hair, finding that it reached to mid back.

"Wow," Avery muttered. "That really needs a trim." Avery felt her fried ends before shrugging and pulling on a baggy shirt that clearly belonged to a male, Avery eyed a pair of green panties with disgust, "Are these clean?"

Jess was tugging on another male's baggy shirt; it was so large that it reached her lower thighs. "They smelled brand new when I grabbed them." she replied shrugging. "If I catching anything from these I'll have your head." Avery muttered, tugging on the panties.

"Yes Alpha." Jess mused.

Avery pulled on a pair of shorts, groaning in disbelief when she realised how sort they were, barely reaching her mid thigh.

"I can't wait till I get some sweats." Avery grunted as she tied her hair back with a thick shred of Jess's partly ripped jeans.

Jess and Avery jogged back into the clearing where Chris was wrestling Hartley; luckily all their clothes had fit, except for Lukan's shirt, which turned out to be a girl's. It now lay in purple shreds amongst the clearing.

"Chris! Hartley!" Avery barked.

Hartley and Chris immediately straightened and stepped away from the other, both holding a sheepish grin on their face.

"Now that we're organized, I suggest we head for town. I don't want the pack here to see as rogues and attack." said Avery, "If we are attacked, fall back. Watch each other's backs and get out of there; we'll rely on our connection to stay in contact, okay?"

There was a murmured reply, and furtive nods. Avery swallowed her nerves and stood tall. Avery spoke in a stronger tone, sounding much braver then how she felt. "Let's go."

Ah! So a new chapter! Well technically it'd be the first chapter... But whatever! So er- yes it has been a busy month for moi! Grandpa in the hospital, Grandma sick- my other Grandma getting cancer, I've been sick- still am by the way, I blame my brother for this damned cough! School, girlie drama- which by the way- I HATE drama involving girls and their friends and their friend's boyfriends, and their crush's ex... Gah! So confusing!

So anyways, on to the point! I will be posting another chapter today- hopefully...

But! On an unrelated topic, I think I will be releasing, "The Female Marauders" Still thinking of a name... It is Harry Potter themed, so it is not completely irrelevant to werewolf- my favorite character, Remus, is indeed a werewolf! So, if you see it in my writing list please do check it out!
