So why do three mysterious men drop off a writing desk at my forgotten mansion? What is so special about this desk that they have to get rid of it?
Beautiful, but confined Violette Huntly, has segregated herself from the outside world, after a horrifying experience that changed her life completely.
Two years later, and she refuses to see anyone, hardly ever venturing out of the Huntly House ruin. People have forgotten her, but not what she did. That has stayed over the whole village.
So she is terrified at the sight of three men in dark hoods, carrying a desk up the stairs. And when they drop it off into the drawing room that hasn't been used in over 100 years, she is mystified as to their motive.
Sitting at the desk, she discovers newspaper articles, set in the future. She doesn't think anything about it; it is just a prank. But when strange things start happening, she knows this is bigger than her.
