Elodie's POV

I was awakened by the lovely screeching of Genevieve Lucille Lancastor.

She was a bit pitchy.

"God, Genny Lu," I said, using the nickname she despised.

"Don't EVER call me that," she growled.

I laughed, got out of the bed that was becoming more and more comfortable, and stumbled into the bathroom. I showered and ran a brush through my hair. I put on jean shorts, my favorite wife beater, and my absolute favorite pair of shoes EVER, my purple and pink Chacos. It's a southern thing.

"Ugh, lesbian shoes again?" Gen groaned.

"I can promise you I am not a lesbian these shoes are just super duper comfy!" I said.

"mmmmhmmm," she eyed me suspiciously.

"Oh crap!" I slapped my head, rather hard actually. "OWWWW!"

"What?!" Gen was alert.

"My parents!"

"What about them?"

"I've got to call them!" I didn't wait for her to reply, I just pulled out "Loretta" my Samsung (yes I did name my phone thank you very much!) and dialled my mother's number.

"Elodie Grace Lancastor! I told you to call me as soon as you got to the hotel! Your father and I are absolutely livid!"

"Yes, Mom, I know. I'm soooooooooooooooo sorry! Gen and I were just soooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!"

"I have the right mind to drive up there and drag you two by the ears back to Mississippi!"

"Mom please don't!" I begged.

"You call me every night or else," she warned.

I nodded vigorously even though I knew she couldnt see me. "Yes. I promise!"

"Ok," She said unconvinced.

"Thankyouthankyouthankyou!!!" I said quickly and hung up.

"I probably shouldn't have done that," I said and Gen nodded.

I texted my mom a quick "sorry love you!" and went back to being happy.

"So. What are we going to do for the next... 7 hours?" Gen looked at her watch.

"I dunno. I never thought about it..."

"You expect us to hang around this dump all day?!"

"No, I thought it would just... come to me, like boom,"

"Well then I guess we're going out," she said as she picked up her purse and started toward the door.

"Where?" I asked.

"I dunno," she opened the door and walked out, obviously expecting me to follow.

I quickly scooped up my purse and followed.
