A week passes, the Queen is caught up in the preparations for the upcoming ball and she didn't need Clara as much right now. Clara decides to go outside the palace, barely going out because of the sun and Fira forbids her to go outside. Clara walks around the perimeter of the palace with her black umbrella, looking at the scenery and feels relaxed. The princess goes behind the palace where a shadow is cast and she didn't need the umbrella now but she sees Remilla curled up on the ground being beaten up by three human boys.
"You disgusting vampire!" one boy says as he stomps his foot on her.
"God is gonna put you and your so-called queen in hell!" another boy says as he kicks her.
"Hey! Stop it!" Clara drops her umbrella and sends out her controlling presence, stopping the two of the boys and runs to her sister, pushing the other boy to the ground, "Remilla! A-a-are you ok?!"
"Y-yeah...Let's just go..." the girl strains a smile on her face as she tries to get up.
The other boy quickly gets up, taking out a small bottle of holy water and throws it at them, yelling "Burn! You demons!"
Clara shields Remilla and hisses in pain as the water sends a burning feeling throughout her body. The two boys regain control of themselves and close in on the sisters about to hurt them until Ash appears behind the boys. He roundhouses kick one of the boys, stepping on his throat then grabs the two other boys by their neck with a smirk. Clara looks back, seeing Ash and becomes happy that he's protecting her.
"I see you boys have no respect for women...I bet your parents would be ashamed of giving birth you" He tells them as he starts choking them, "too bad, you won't be seeing them again"
"No! Stop! Don't kill them!" Remilla yells, "The Queen wouldn't want that!"
Ash sighs, letting them go and they run away. He walks over to the princess and takes her hand, helping her up, "Are you girls ok?"
"Y-yes, thanks to you" Clara blushes being able to see Ash again as she holds his hand tighter, "Um can you pick up my umbrella?"
He picks up the umbrella and opens it, holding it for her, "Shall we go, princess?"
"Um, y-yes we shall" Clara responds as she blushes even more.
As they were walking back to the palace, Clara couldn't take her eyes of Ash. She felt even closer to him from the way he saved her, it been a year since she last saw him and the princess still has feelings for Ash. Even since he saved her from those werewolves, 350 years ago during the Takeover war Clara never forgot him since but there was the Queen. The princess knew Ash set his eyes on Fira and she didn't know why. She has known the Queen for her whole life and was certain she's cold hearted and doesn't love anybody except the humans...Clara loves her older sister but it frustrates her that her sister doesn't care about her. They enter the palace as Remilla runs to Fira and hugs while she was busy with the servants and Ren about the ball arrangements.
"I collected the princess, Fira" Ash announces as he closes the umbrella and walks over to Fira, leaving Clara side.
Fira looks up from the papers she was holding then shoos the servants away and realize that her sisters look beaten up, "What hell the happened to you girls?"
"It was some stupid church boys attacked them, lucky I came in time to save the day" Ash answers.
"You didn't kill the boys right?"
"Um no..."
"Good, I would have killed you if you did"
"So you're not mad?"
